Set in the lovely village of New Abbey. . There is an admission charge. You can see all of the Abbey from outside the paying area.

This is a beautiful abbey with romantic history. Surrounding countryside beautiful and nearby village has tearooms if in need of refreshments.

Love looking around old ruins, this one is lovely, staff from Historic Scotland were friendly and Informative especially Carol Anne. Also a nice walk around the ruins,

You can see the abbey without entering the grounds. However we felt it was worth the entrance fee to get a better feel of the place.

An interesting diversion for an hour or so, Sweetheart Abbey is one for those of us who like a good ruin, although it will not detain you for more than an hour or so, and is priced accordingly.

Very cool visit. A cool story behind the founder of the Abbey and what still stands. The staff was very friendly. The kids loved running around. We got some great family photos.
