A very easy and pleasant walk along the river. On the way from West Stadium you go by a bat colony and you can walk around the old Dairy Cottages before continuing on to Old Government House which is worth a visit if you are interested in Australian history. Treat yourself to morning tea at Lachlan's - homemade hot scones with jam and (real) cream served in the old fashioned way for $16. If it's springtime be sure to visit the nearby rose garden. The site of the very first farmlands in Australia are on the other side of the river from Govt House. There is lots of birdlife along the river.

A wonderful family outing. We thought our grandchildren (11 yr old and 8 yr old) may have been too old for the children’s playground. We were wrong because they were well catered for at both the playgrounds ( flying fox a special treat). We had a lunch picnic near one playground and an afternoon tea picnic near the other. Plenty of shady picnic “ spots”.
We still miss the riverside cafe that was burnt down. It appears to be being built as a reception centre?? We also miss the convenience of the toilets attached to the former cafe- they were locked. The toilets in the park weren’t as well maintained.
The pop up cafe is underwhelming. The Gate House tea rooms are lovely but not always what a family is looking for. I feel a coffee cart and ice- cream stand would do well.
Weekends are the best time to visit because parking restrictions are more relaxed.

Parramatta Park is a huge green oasis in rapidly developing urban area. Miles of beautiful walks through trees and along the river, plenty of room for team sports in the open spaces and playing fields. Several top restaurants in heritage buildings and a glimpse into Parramatta and Australia's history complete the package.

Parramatta Park has it all. Lush greenery, a variety of tree species, creeks which flow into Parramatta River and many historic buildings such as Old Government House, Dairy Cottage, Rangers Cottage, Governor’s Bath House and the Boer War Memorial.

There’s a walking and cycling track for people who want to exercise. Families can have a picnic or curious people can just explore the grounds.

Excellent kids playground at Parramatta Park. One of the best kids playgrounds I have been to. Really good Flying Fox, Trampolines, Diggers etc. Lots of parkland to run around. Ducks, birds. Great place to visit.

2. Rolling hills for a harder workout
3. Has Heritage listed buildings, history and charm.
4. Can do high tea here.
5. Popular with walkers, runners and cyclists doing the loop
6. there is an area with bats.
7. views to a steam with water birds and a river
8. Nice Cricket ground areas and concert areas. Many great picnic spots.

We decided to have a walk around the park and it was very nice. Lots of wildlife to see - the lizards, the bats and birds. We followed the river around up to the old Kings School cricket oval and across the bridge in a loop.

This historic park is an oasis of green in the bustling city. A stroll to Westmead Children’s Hospital, shopping, or the city. The large park has plenty of historical interest. A quiet place to sit is easy, or a bike ride along its many bike paths. A great place for a picnic or to play with the kids.

Worth a walk around and some interesting monuments and sculptures. I learnt a lot of history about the surrounding area. Lots of places where you could have a picnic or if you have children, where they could run around. The bats in the river crossing area near the stadium were fascinating. I think adults and children would enjoy seeing them.
