- Samantha c1 contributionSunset camels rideWow what an amazing experience. The staff were very helpful and full of information about camels. The camels ride along the beach while the sun was setting and fantastic. We stopped a few time for staff to take photos for us. - Nicky B6 contributionsGreat Sunset RideHad a fantastic ride across the sand dune and in the water on a sunset ride. The staff were fantastic and so friendly. The camels were amazing, so gentle although they did get a bit excited when we got to the water and started to splash. A great evening Highly recommendedVisited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 February 2024
- TravelTrips12Sydney, Australia412 contributions3 hour wait but worth itWe visited Oakfield Ranch during the Easter long weekend. Apparently it is one of their busiest times of the year. We had to wait in a queue (no bookings allowed) for 3 hours before we had our chance to ride the camels. Overall the 20 minute camel ride was really great fun, despite the long wait. Staff were very friendly and offered to take photos of us on our phones for free during the ride. We rode along the sand dunes, to the beach, along the shore, and back. A great experience if you’re willing to wait. I would suggest to others to go when they are not busy as they usually don’t have such long queues apparently.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 2 April 2024
- SeziSydney, Australia2 contributionsAn experience to tresury for a lifetimeFrom the second we arrived, we were greeted with welcome arms. I originally booked just for myself as when I booked online there was only 1 spot available for the entire weekend that my partner and I planned to stay in the area. As I got there the staff asked if I would like my partner to join me but share a camel together. Which I was so surprised and made us both excited to experience the camel ride together. The camel ride was definitely an experience my partner and I will NEVER forget. We did the Sunset one and it’s a MUST!!! The staff were so informative. One of the staff members took so many photos for us during the entire ride and they are the most beautiful photos. We even got some videos too that were beautifully recorded. For an experience that’s been on my bucket list since I can remember, It definitely did not disappoint. You ALL are amazing!!!! Thank you for an incredible and unforgettable experienceVisited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 April 2024

Can highly recommend the Sunset camel ride. Absolutely loved it. Everyone is so friendly, very informative and no question is too silly. They will take photos for you throughout the ride in multiple places making your experience more memorable. The camels walk through the water which is really cool. I live local to the area and you find you don't do many things close to home as opposed to when on holidays. Don't forget to experience these things as sometimes they are the ones that surprise you. Camels are very well looked after and love cuddles. Was a belated birthday present, so glad i picked this

We were a group of 10 over 50’s social group visiting The Bay for a mini break.
We were a group of mixed ability. The staff particularly Mark went out of their way to make sure we could all participate and have a fun experience.
No stupid rules above the obvious safety rules.
Great experience we will remember for a long time. Several of us already thinking about bring family for another visit

It was an experience, yes. Staff were very nice but I'd suggest the shorter ride for anyone. The camels are all tethered to one another so you plod one way for half hour, then back. There isn't much to see, and the camels only go ankle deep in the white wash. An experience but doesn't need to be a long one.

Myself and our 2 teenage boys did the sunset ride. A must do if in the area. Awesome scenery walking around the huge sand dunes, felt like we were in the Sahara. The camels walked back along the beach in the water. Great opportunities for some photography and the camel "cowboys" were so obliging taking our phones and taking loads of photos along the way.
Thank you Oakfield Ranch for a memorable afternoon.

What a wonderful experience for kids and adults. A quick ride on a camel down the beach and back. Arrive and line up at 9:15am otherwise there is a long hot wait in the sun. Bring your own cap as you have to wear their helmets.
The staff are incredibly friendly, and it is a wonderful introduction to camels! Very well worth it.

Family and I had a blast riding the camels into the gentle surf of Anna Bay, Port Stephens, NSW. I’ve always wanted to ride one and I did! So much fun watching my family and going into the water. Don't worry they have long legs and you don't get wet. Its safe and fun.

Hi ,just wondering the best way to get from Circular Quay Sydney to Oak field ranch in Anna Bay so my wife can go on a camel ride . in a couple weeks .
Written 8 January 2017
It's a fair way to go, you'd be better coming from Newcastle instead. The camel rides are only 10 mins. You could probably find a closer one in sydney.

My daughter 20mo n she can do it, but she co-sit with my husband. So 3 of us on 1 camel. But if ur lo is 3yo, i think better co-seat with u on 1 camel, coz he/she won't be abe to seat alone yet.. its high and have to have balance.. just did it yesterday n its quite an interesting n fun experience.

How much is the camel ride?
Can I take my 2 month old?
Can two ride together?
Thank you
Jane

Jane, adults are $25.00 per head, you can ride two up, depends on the number of people for the ride and it would be up to the operator on how safe your 2 months old would be to take the ride.
This attraction is operated by Oakfield Ranch and only operates on weekends and on every day of school holidays and is very popular.
Hope you enjoy.
