About
Kopitovic family settled in the village of Donji Brceli in Crmnica in the 15th century. We have a long history of grapevine cultivation, especially types like Vranac and Kratosija. Vineyards are situated in ideal altitude above the sea level exposed to the sun during many days of the year. Old cellar is part of our winery and is over 300 years old. Also we built new degustation room in authentic style.

Enjoyed a truly exceptional wine-tasting experience at Vinarija Kopitović in the Crmnica region in the south of Montenegro, in the basin of Skadar Lake. Winemaker Žarko Kopitović's family settled in the village of Donji Brčeli in the 15th century and since ancient times has been cultivating vines and making wine. His unparalleled hospitality included a fire in the hearth when we arrived, a visit to the old cellar, cats and dogs to pet if you like, amazing wines with fascinating stories and symbolism behind each, history of his family (lots of strong women!), tons of laughter and delicious food he made himself!

The family owning this old winery was very friendly, welcoming and most flexible when planning our visit. We are grateful for the response we got. We mailed an inquiry with short notice and got an immediate positive answer.
The visit was very interesting with deep information about the family history when owning this wineyard since 300 yrs and about the different wines they produced. We really appreciated both the wine tasting and the whole visit.

I would absolutely recommend a visit to this vineyard. Outstanding wine (shout out to the Scepan Mali wine) and great food. Could not fault the hospitality and clean toilets!

Stumbled upon this winery while taking the wrong road to the sea, turned out to be one of our best mistakes! Amazing hospitality and wine tasting from a super friendly family in Montenegro's beautiful countryside.

We choose a lunch And wine tasting And got a plate full of wonderful homemade food like all kinds of cheese, sausages, bruschetta, olives etc. And the wine is very very good. The family is really lovely And warm And there is a lot of love And passion in the winery. Definitally recommend it, we stayed more then 3 hours :)

This is a small, family-run winery close to Virpazar that is worth a visit. The family has been producing wine for commercial purposes since 2006 and are mostly specialized in red wine.
We had a lovely time tasting 3 of their wines and grappa, while listening to the interesting stories behind their production.
The tasting was accompanied by different types of cheese, ham, sausage and tomato bruschetta, in enough quantity for us to have lunch! This costed 17€ per person, which I thought was a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend a visit if you are a wine enthusiast!

The Kopitovic Family hospitality is outstanding. Vinarija’s pride in his daughter Jelena’s ( (1 of 3) excellent presentation in the 300 year old cellar is obvious. Her informative, knowledgeable talk of the wine process is perfect. The tasting platters, followed by a traditional ‘pit oven’ style veal and potato lunch, with matching wine tastings is yummy.
Needless to say the Winery Kopitovic’s awards are no surprise.
A visit to this quiet countryside genuinely homely family vineyard was a great way to experience a small part of real Montenegro.

Myself and my partner visited this lovely family winery during our stay in Montenegro. We emailed on the morning of the visit and response was quick informing us that they were available at 16:30 the same day. Great! So myself and my partner took the nice drive from budva to the remote winery, it is however well signposted from the main road, so don't worry!
We are in our 20's and we're maybe a little worried that a wine tasting wouldn't be so much fun for us, how wrong we were. We were greeted by 1 of the 3 daughters who gave us an interesting talk about the background of the family and the winery in their 3,000 year old wine cellar! We then went into the main room upstairs and spoke with her father who is the main man! We were fed endless amounts of delicious cheese, cold meats and very tasty cooked sausage whilst chatting with the family about all kinds of things. We tasted 3 wines, 2 red and 1 white wine and were told of the fascinating stories behind them (and they're very good too!) I won't spoil the stories, but the family telling why they make their wine and the reasons they call certain types of wine the names they do is truly heartwarming and the hospitality is unbeatable, they literally welcome you into their home with open arms! They have won prestigious awards and you can purchase their wine at good prices on the visit. Don't hesitate to give them a call!
Thank you so much for having us and we wish you the very best! Hope to see you again soon!
