We spent a perfect afternoon at this gorgeous beach! Endless sand. Endless. Perfect for those who enjoy a LONG walk on the beach. They say the water here is full of rays, but many people were swimming. We chose not to - we chilled with a water buffalo in some lounge chairs under an umbrella and drank cheap beer all... More

Spent a quiet morning in June on this beach. It was lovely. We heard later there might have been stingrays but we didn't encounter any when swimming.

We walked along the beach going to the right side and found a river coming into the sea. Amazing spot for swimming and relaxing. Almost desert in some places, this beach is a paradise.

Make sure you go during the high tide when it is shallow (yes) and better for bathing. The beach is 12Km far from the downtown.

The beach itself was long and flat, with plenty of places to relax and find food. At one end there is also a quiet beach community. There is little pollution, but when the tide comes in the sea can bring in litter.

Good food right on the beach. Water is a mix of river and sea water. You can ride a buffalo if you want to.

It is a vast beach, the luminosity is bright. We ate fish "muqueca" sitting in one of many "barracas" where you find table and chairs. The breeze never stops. Was a great day on the beach. I always come back for more, each time I travel to Brazil.
