The helicopter flight we took to Tasman Island was amazing. The rugged scenery from this coastline was stunning and being able to see Port Arthur from the air and this part of Tasmania was spectacular. We were also whales - what a bonus. Rotorlift are the only company allowed to land on Tasman Island - a remote island on the southern peninsula of Tasmania. Tasman island has a lighthouse with no habitants and our pilot organised for us to have a lovely picnic whilst there. Highly recommend this trip.

We had the most wonderful experience with Ryan our pilot flying ex Cambridge to Tasman Island on the Tasman Peninsula. Pushed for time, we selected this tour to experience the beautiful wilderness over the Three Capes region and have the very special experience of being able to land and explore the island on foot. The trip down over the various bays and peninsula to get to the island was amazing, but having a few hours on the island with Ryan to explain the history of the lighthouse construction was even better. We wondered how resilient and strong those pioneers were to achieve what they did. Loved walking through one of the houses with artefacts from the history of the settlement. Loved our picnic lunch and Pinot, more than we could finish. The flight home allowed a birds eye view over The Neck and learnt how it was instrumental as a deterrent against escape for the convicts at Port Arthur. This is a luxury trip, not a budget option, but a totally spectacular way to access this remote and stunning island.

We finally got to redeem our Christmas 2020 voucher this week. Rotorlift had been unfailingly cooperative and helpful in spite of all of the delays.
Our trip was totally worth the wait.
Ian, our pilot, was efficient, friendly, unobtrusive.
Chris in the office equally delight and helpful.
And the flight??? Fabulous and breathtaking.
We had two hours to eat our posh picnic and plenty of time to walk on this glorious little windswept island.
Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful tour of the spectacular, rugged and remote coastline that is surprisingly close to Hobart, with a very knowledgeable and interesting commentary provided by our pilot. Having taken many helicopter tours in Australia and NZ (and a handful of other countries) we were impressed that the tour was so accurately described, (including the time we spent in the air), and how clean and well maintained the interior, safety gear and the helicopter appeared to be. It was a bonus having a comfortable transfer from our accommodation in Hobart included. Thanks for a very enjoyable experience!

From the moment you start your ferry ride to MONA, you are charmed by the "sheep seats", the plastic cow on board the ferry and the oh so hip ferry decor. The museum is cut into sandstone beautiful in itself. Filled with challenging exhibits and immersive exhibits. It makes other museums seem a bit dowdy in retrospect. Highly recommend for the art lover, architect, or curious.

Food for thought with amazing creativity and artistic flair, definitely worth a visit. If you take the ferry pay the extra for the posh pit, fantastic day!!

Not really my kettle of fish but I am so glad my friend and I spent the day there. What amazing art in various styles by many artists. Beautiful grounds and some restaurants only thing that was disappointing you cannot bring own foods This limits family as food little costly and different. Would recommend a must even if you only do,it once

Thanks to Laura, Susan and the team at Rotorlift for another successful helicopter adventure in Tasmania. You guys are always so helpful in the planning stages and the hop from MONA to Port Arthur to Saffire was perfect. The scenery was amazing, the pilots were friendly and reassuring and everything operated on time and seamlessly. You do make life easy and fun!!

Would it be possible to land on Tasman Island? 3 of us would like an hour or two if possible. Do you still fly from Point Puer?
Special occasion on 23 December ... what's the chances?
And I understand that this is weather specific.

Thank you for your enquiry.
It is possible to land on Tasman Island, however landing permission needs to be obtained from Parks and Wildlife and the islands care taker before we can organise the flight down there.
All flights depart from our base at Rotor-Lift. There would be a possibility for a pick up at Point Puer, but you will once again need to obtain landing permission from the property owner.
