- Brooklyn H1 contributionBest Wine In The World! My cousin and I last minute decided we wanted to have wine tasting, and we came upon Craigow Vineyard. Barry was so welcoming and invited us in so last minute. We had great conversation and it was truly the best wine I have ever had. So fresh and each taste all had different flavors and spice. If you want to try the best wine in the world I highly recommend going to Craigow Vinerayd and meeting Barry.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 May 2024
- David_W255093Adelaide, Australia72 contributionsA superb tasting experienceThis was our first visit to Craigow and it definitely won’t be our last! On a January weekend when other Coal River Valley wineries were overflowing we chose Craigow mainly because the car park wasn’t full. What a wonderful discovery it turned out to be. A beautiful welcoming tasting area and a brilliant host who was so friendly and knowledgeable. And the wines were really exceptional. The Pinot was everything a good Tassie Pinot should be and more but the 2022 Chardonnay was right up there with the finest Chablis. Unbelievably good. Crisp, tight, not over-oaked, amazing depth of fruit driven flavour embraced by a remarkable minerality that is the hallmark of great Chardonnay. A triumph! Thankfully another carton has just arrived!Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 10 June 2024

My partner and I came here for a spontaneous visit and were not disappointed. We enjoyed a lovely wine tasting whilst enjoying the company of the owner Barry who kindly told us about the history of the place. It was nice being at a vineyard that had a real personal touch to it and the wines were delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Hugh delivered a wonderful cellar door tasting experience. It was extremely friendly, relaxed and personal. The sparkling merlot is on my wish list, but I happily took away a lovely Sav Blanc. Our group of four rated it one of the best cellar door experiences we've had. Thanks Hugh for your time and effort.

We visited for a wine tasting with Barry by appointment with a group. Barry was a gracious and entertaining host. It was great to hear all about the wine making and the vineyard as we tasted our way through a delicious selection of wines, sitting under the beautiful canopy of vines in the afternoon sun. Barry was a generous host and we got to taste some of his own olives which were delicious. Loved the pinots and the sparkling merlot.

Charming little cottage - would be perfect to stay and relax on a nice day. We just popped in for a tasting. Some nice wines, talked through by a clearly passionate, intelligent and friendly guy who clearly cared about Craigow and was interested in what we were after. Ended up buying a sparkling red and a great-value Botrytis that's been on the menu in some top Aussie restaurants.

Enjoyed spending time here and the wines weren't bad either and well priced. We sat at one of the tables for tasting with its retro decor. Very inviting, friendly and engaging.

Great little winery! Have been a couple of times. This time we bought out the rest of their quaffing pinot and some more special bottles. The host is friendly and generous, and gives you a real taste of the local flavors. They have some rows of the different grapes out back, so in late summer your can taste the fresh grapes.
We won't pass them up when on the road to Richmond.
