The actual villa is closed, at least for another year (now is July 2017), for restoration. You can have a look from the outside. As opposed to the other villa's nearby this was more of farm. Less luxury, more work.. You can actually see quite...More

This place could be missed as it is hidden behind a block of flats. Hardly gets any visitors it appears, but not a bad little museum. Shame the Villa itself was closed as work was being undertaken but still had to pay to go in...More

Amazing experience. We struck gold with a bilingual staff member who gave The Best Tour of all. Written info is all in Italian so this was invaluable. The site includes a farm in a deep excavation pit and a wonderful museum. You'll see household contents...More

The museum has some interesting objects from daily Roman life such as eating utensils, pots and pans, and wine vessels. The site of Boscoreale itself was not open to the public when I visited in February. The site is fairly small and only includes about...More

We were the only people, other than staff, in the building. All of the signs and descriptions were in Italian only. We were not able to really appreciate what the exhibits were trying to show as we could not understand them. The staff also only...More
