Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a beautiful bay with views out towards Venezuela. You could imagine a pirate ship anchored to take shelter. It was really beautiful, surrounded by rainforest which includes howler monkeys and a variety of birdlife. The beach doesn't have that much sand area for lounging. There is enough for children to play sandcastles.
The water was calm and although it was clear, it was also tinged brown from the tannins from the runoff from the rainforest. There was easy parking and this is still an easy drive from Port of Spain for a quick swim. There was a cafe near the car park but it wasn't open when we were there. There was also a life saving hut which was manned but I don't know what training the life savers might get in Trinidad & Tobago.

Pedestrians are free, vehicles incur a charge. I wouldn't mind but much of what has been constructed is in dire need of maintenance.
Expect a picturesque sunset. Visitors should note that on a clear day Venezuela is visible.
The water can sometimes have lower visibility after heavy rain. Do watch out for the sudden drop upon entering the water. If u can swim, do bring a snorkel and mask and try to find 3 places to physically stand with yr head out of the water, but be careful one is a bit far and has coral which can cut bare feet.
You should almost always see small fish dodging bathers at the shore, and the bay's resident sea turtle (amazing to see) on the western side of the bay. Expect to be somewhat disappointed with trash in and out of the water. Also, the beauty of this small beach is the diversity of bathers as well as the flora and marine life.
Photos are best above water though. Please only bathe when lifeguards are there.
The beach does not have lights at night. Also note that to go from the car park to the beach is a 100ft descent on paved pathway. It's also bot handicap accessible.
Lastly, consider yourself blessed to behold the yellow poui when in full bloom.
There are some hiking trails and a zip line.
Food selection at the snackette is limited, and normally has a lot of flour.
CDA can do a lot better with the entire bay. You will not be wowed.

One of the easiest beaches to get to on the island. There's safe parking, zip-lining, and even some small hikes. The water at the beach is calm, clear and ideal for snorkelling.

Firstly there is a TT$25 entrance fee which isn't too bad but elsewhere in Trinidad it is free on the weekdays but the guy at the gate was unsure of the swimming conditions. At times the place is full of weed smoking drop outs, avoid

... what a great way to spend a few hours ... sliding at speed on 7 wires between the trees. Safety is paramount and taken seriously but rammed home like other establishments. The guides are fun and can you share a laugh over the harnesses and twerking ... Views across the valley toward the beach on Line 7 (last one) were just fantastic!

On the North coast of Trinidad, in the Chaguaramas peninsula. The road to the beach is a lovely drive through a bamboo ‘forest’. At the end of the road is a car park , TT $20 fee. Additional fees for access to the changing room/toilets. There is also a small canteen in the parking area.
The beach is accessed by a steep downhill walkway. Much of the lovely beach is now concreted over with a retaining wall , presumably to prevent erosion/landslides. The small sandy beach is surrounded by lush green tropical forest on all sides. The clear water , gritty sand and vegetation make for a tranquil bathing spot.
The beach drops very quickly to a great depth and currents are present. So be careful if going in . Great for divers .Lots of fish to see , even in the shallow water close to shore.
All the locals we met were friendly , but because of the isolated location, it can feel intimidating if you’re not in a group. There are no storage facilities for valuables on the beach so be careful.
Worth a visit for the stunning scenery.

Came here with a friend and his family. Great family friendly spot with Ziplining and other activities available. Not sure the process because we didn’t do any of those. We simply relaxed with the kiddos. Beautiful water with a nice current. Not too far from the Chaguanas boardwalk either. Def will go back.

I got the fortune to have a 12-hour stay in Trinidad. I was rushing to have a quick tour to this country considering that it is in Caribbean. I have that thinking that it must really be a nice place to spend an afternoon getaway. I looked for the nearest route going to Maracas beach but unfortunately, it will take around 2-3hr drive back in forth from Port of Spain. So I decided to go to this place instead.
Yeah, never get disappointed because Macqueripe Bay was really awesome with its beautiful caribbean sea view with forest as the backdrop of the sea.
Aside from it, there are other activities that you can try. They have zipline, and a short trekking. Did not got the chance to try these since my purpose of my visit is just to dip myself to the semi turquoise water of this bay.
Just be careful when you pass by the aisle going to the beach because it is slippery when it is wet, but the view is worth slipping though.
And by the way, the shower will cost you 2TTD per 15mins. So shower as fast as you can and follow the "Conserve Water" rule.
