Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To be honest, this is the smallest and most boring aquarium I have seen anywhere in the world. But if it's your first one, maybe it can give you the main idea of this kind of place. Including the underwater tunnels. But the size of the building and the collection make it worth skipping if you have seen some of the real ones. In any case, at least look for discounted tickets online and don't pay the full price at the gate - that way you can save at least 30%.

Absolutely awful. How have people written it takes 2 hours? It took 30 minutes to walk through 3 tunnels. Most of the smaller tanks had nothing. The highlight was the diver feeding the fish and using my Thai drivers license to pay 25p instead of 500.
Avoid.
Avoid.

Underwater world is one of the tourist attraction in pattaya town. Entrance fee is there. We have seen the aquarium and different types of water animals are there. Various types of small and big fishes are avilable and within short time we can complete the entire area.

The place is so unclean, smells bad. You can feel that the place is not up to the mark and the animals are in bad health as soon as you enter. Please don't waste your time, visit Sea World in Bangkok instead.

Good place to spend a couple of hours. The aquariums are interesting and plenty of fish of every type. Lots of photo opportunities within the glass tunnel.
I personally still don’t agree with any dual pricing, but it’s just the Thai way.
Good place to go on a rainy day, or even on a red hot day because most of it is air-conditioned. Interesting for families with kids and big kids too.
Overall a nice experience.

Tanks were dirty, most of the tanks were too small for the amount of fishes. There was also reptiles in way too small, unqualified terrariums filled weeks of poo, ie. iguana junevilles had one tiny stick what they couldn't climb, no UVB lightning. Even pet shops could provide better care! I feel so sorry for the animals in there and I really hope that Underwater world would take notes how to take care of their animals. It's not rocket science to look up right care sheets for each animal from internet.

Been to this aquarium before but this time it was not that fun. The collection of fish is huge from small to big different species. You will get a cheaper price on online bookings. The place is not hygienic like it use to be before. I would say you can skip it for other activities.

Do not waste your time or money. There is no life in the tanks except the fish. No plants, no snails, no anemone, no habitat at all. Just crappy fake rocks, plastic coral, peeling paint and bored and sick looking fish. A truly depressing place.

Total waste of time and money and so sad that this place is in such a terrible state and unkept. It’s smelly .. the tanks look dirty and bare and the few fish and creatures that they have actually looked depressed. They shouldn’t be allowed to be charging people for this.

The fish tunnels were as pretty as advertised. The fishes really seemed to have a lot of space to roam in. There are some other things to see like the frogs and other fishes but the tunnels are the main thing. I'd say it's a bit overpriced for what it offers, though. I recommend getting the tickets online as you can save some money this way.

Foreigner and Thais same price? Or one of these Rip off Dual Pricing places?
Written 16 October 2020
Sorry, but you know that as most attractions in Thailand. It has a dual pricing system and foreigners pay more.

Is it possible to visit Coral island and Underwater World on the same day?
Written 22 October 2017
Yes it is very much possible and we did the same. First half for Coral island and other water sports. 2 hours in the afternoon is enough for Underwater World.

Does this place have a luggage deposit corner? Can we visit here straight from airport with all our baggage in tow & deposit at the entrance counter? If yes, what are the charges? Does it have an eatery? Can we have a proper lunch here?
Written 8 July 2017
Hi, I think you should be able to deposit your bags at the entrance as they do have trollies, etc for kids. However, it would be good if you do not take bags along as it is very big place and you would be tired by the time you get out, so carrying bags would be a big hassle, yes there are eateries around serving buffet lunch.
