Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife is quietly disappointed that I was not able to take perfect photo of her "touching" the plane when it on the way to land.
Of cos, i am using my mobile phone, I am not good enough to location the correct angle.
Just an advice, if didn't want your gal or wife to be disappointed, do get some tips before heading there.

The better view option is at d Naiyang beach, which is d landing, where landing time is slower n give visitor time to take better shot pf d plane.

Good view of Landing fort runway 09. Take photo with aircraft which land to Phuket Airport. Many people have a nice shoot for Winter season in Phuket.

The planes take off from the airport and fly low overhead .. Thats it .... You get dropped off at the parking lot where you have to pay to take a tuktuk to the beach area then pay to take a tuktuk back ...

This has to be one of my favourite places to visit while in Phuket. The beach is gorgeous and watching the planes land/take-off over your head is incredible. A must see if you are in the area.

Firstly, most people come here for the plane spotting. Regardless which is the active runway, you'll get the experience of a close up view of the many aircraft that cycle through Phuket.
With such a busy airport as Phuket, you won't need to wait long between movements.

Secondly, the beach is a long sand beach, free to use, clean and fronts directly onto the Andaman Sea. Good for swimming!

Thirdly, there is a small little street market at the location the little trikes can set you down, pick you up. So you can grab some cheap eats or drinks for your stay at the beach, or for your ride home after.

Nai Yang Beach viewpoint certainly compares to the world famous Maho Beach at Sint Maarten (which I have not visited but have watched videos of). I read online that it is technically illegal to watch planes at this location in Thailand, and apparently it even carries the death penalty! However, when I visited there was no warning signs other than a warning about your own personal safety, and there was at least 50 people there so I doubt that the authorities would ever enforce such laws.
The planes fly in right above your head which is spectacular; maybe 10 metres if that. Great for avid plane enthusiasts or just those who want cool pictures. Of course you need to make sure you go when the wind is blowing from the east which is generally most of the high season [December - May] as otherwise the planes would be taking off in this direction which is not as spectacular.
The beach is also very nice, and thanks to the 200 baht per person [foreign adult] entrance fee to Sirinat National Park at the southern end of the beach, it is not busy at all. This fee is pretty ridiculous though and you can enter from the north for free to access the viewpoint. If it wasn't for the fee that caused a lot of issues for me just trying to reach the plane viewing spot, I probably would have given this attraction 5 stars. Nonetheless, I certainly recommend this activity if you have a spare day, like planes, or are waiting for a later flight as I was, and thus had some time to kill.

It is real! It is a unic experience when you see a airplane approaching to runway when only less than 50 meters over your head!
You can shoot one of the best pictures forever.

Was staying at the Splash Waterpark Resort a few days. Heard you could watch planes come in and out of Phuket airport so I took the 10 minute walk to check it out one evening. Beach was somewhat crowded and it’s easy to find your direction based on the amount of people mulling around waiting to take a pic or video flights. I happen to get there right around a beautiful sunset. Only downside was people always seemed to be jockeying for best photo position. Also. Asked on wind direction we only saw outbound flights.
