Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The museum was well laid out and we enjoyed our visit. The displays were excellent and we now know much more about Europe and the medieval period. They had a short video on the history of the place that started in the UK and then moved to Australia.

We spent nearly two hours walking through the collection and reading all the information. We know lots more about those times and decided we would not have enjoyed living then.

An amazing museum tucked away at the back of Caboolture. The artifacts are diverse and interesting. The Abbey church is beautiful with the multitude of stained glass windows.

Wow really surprised by the Abbey Museum, the reviews sounded good so risked a 1hr drive from Brisbane to check it out.
Travel back in time from British Stone Age, to Medieval times complete with armor, and then some interesting historical pieces from Egypt and Asia.
The displays & information provided was excellent !
Great for everyone & worth the trip.

You can't attend the Abbey Medieval Festival without a visit to The Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology in Caboolture, Queensland and admire many of the original painted panels. And don't forget to visit the Abbey Church and admire the Leadlight Stained Glass Windows; some of which were originally in the Winchester Cathedral in England. So much history to be had.

PRO:
For a fantastic weekend you can't go past the Medieval Festival. With so much to see and do for both the young and old you can not be bored. With the enthusiasm of the performers it almost becomes infectious that you can't help but join in. The effort that is put in is amazing and the flow is nothing short of incredible from the staff directing traffic to the ticket area. Each area is a period in history that you become encompassed in.
For children they see history come alive and if finally makes sense. Especially for the fact that we here in Queensland don't have the same history as England and Europe.

CON
We have enjoyed the festival for many years and have seen it evolve into an incredible event. Unfortunately this year we felt a sense of loss with a number of players missing. We also felt there wasn't the same enthusiasm that we have experienced over the years. We understand people move on, costs to run such an event increase, time changes.
But we hope that the popularity and the size of the event does not mean its downfall.

As a family intrigued by history, the items and impacts it leaves for today's society, we were interested to see a museum listed as 'of Art and Archaeology' in a regional setting. Intrigued we travelled, visited and enjoyed the collection.
The space is well designed for the visitor to walk through history and appreciate the curator's passion and influence of the space.

We enjoyed our visit and will visit again if travelling through this region another time.
