About
Phuket Weekend Market, also known as Talad Tairod by the locals, is hailed as Phuket’s largest night market. There’s an endless jumble of goods for sale here, including clothing, accessories, souvenirs, shoes, and all sorts of electronics. The food spread is equally vast—you can find fried snacks, fruit salads, and even deep-fried insects. If you’re looking to have a full meal, there are several dine-in seafood restaurants. This weekend market is also located opposite Naka Temple. As parking spaces are limited, hop on a taxi or tuktuk (Thailand's three-wheeled open-air vehicles) to get here with ease. – Tripadvisor

- Scenic405765220493 contributionsA great weekend marketHere you can find everything you need in terms of food, drinks, souvenirs and clothing! However, it does get very crowded and hot under the covered market. Please note: only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 p.m.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 February 2024
- QalikPrague, Czech Republic66 contributionsWeekend marketA wide range of dishes, everyone can choose what they like. There are a lot of people and I see as a disadvantage the small places to sit where you could eat the food you bought. Definitely an experience worth seeing.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 March 2024
- Lotto90Baar, Switzerland62 contributionsFake brand products and StrietzlBig market focused on souvenirs and tourist stuff like clothes, jewellery, buddha statues, but mostly fake brand products. If you are looking for that kind of stuff this would be the place to be. Foodwise we were a little bit disappointed, as there was much more international fried fast food choice than thai food. For sweettooths worth a visit, as the locals try themselves in baking pastry and cakes. I also want to mention their efforts to copy "Strietzl" from the DACH region.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 March 2024
- Denis SKrasnoyarsk Krai, Russia105 contributionsRegular marketThe market may be larger than others in Phuket, but there are few differences. The price level is no different from street tents in Kata or Patong; you still have to bargain if you want a normal price. The range of products is the same. There is no point in going specially from the beach areas to shop cheaper.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 March 2024
- Helen H23 contributionsAmazing foodie experienceSo much fun. Great atmosphere, ate food we wouldn’t have seen in the UK. Loved it. My husband is a trained chef and we love trying different types of food- this market did not disappoint! - Russell3939Castle Rock, Colorado1,023 contributionsLots to see and buyCame here looking for cheap nice clothes and found it. There is plenty to see and do here. There are tons of shops in one area to see. If you are looking for clothes and souvenirs this is a good place to start. - MissS797 contributionsWorth a visitLots of stalls with gifts, clothing, food and fake items. I got some bargain Thai items & gifts, The food area has lots of options may find it hard to get a seat. Barter as the prices quoted always much higher. Most of the stalls sell same things. The fake designer items are not something I would purchase but for those who are looking I would say the quality is poor and look very fake. Save your money and buy the Thai local items. Only downside is parking can be an issue.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 April 2024
- RachMelbourne, Australia16 contributionsGo to buy tourist gifts and browse many branded tshirts, sunglasses, shorts and shoe stalls.Big, busy, noisy and very hot. A fun experience if you enjoy a bustling crowd, bartering for goods and trying local food. Naka is a fun weekend market with many of the same clothes, shoes, jewellery and electronic goods you can buy from OTOP market in Patong or Karon Temple Night market. You don’t need to go to all 3.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 April 2024

- dennis mLondon, United Kingdom28 contributionsGood, but very busySpent a few hours at the buzzing Naka night market, where there are hundreds of food stalls offering all types of cuisine along with fashion and the infamous pets corner. It can be overwhelming as it is very busy and very hot inside, but there are musicians there and drinks are cheap. There is a taxi rank outside, but grab taxis are cheaper and very reliable. Super large bazaar, accounts partly trade well , with clothes no problem at all, beautiful silk dresses about 10,- or also made of cotton ( 5-8,-) for really top prices. My daughter has picked up good fack sport shoe also for great price of 15,-
With jewelry the local ones stayed rather more expensive so we will buy it in Germany.
Eat and drink huge selection and also much cheaper than you get it so in the streets restaurants.
Dried mango and menthol/mint sniffing things we bought there at the cheapest price.

About a 4km walk from the centre of old Phuket Town - a bit of a walk in humidity - a taxi is an alternative. We went to the market after an afternoon of investigating the old town.
A must see experience in Phuket. The weekend market is open from about 4pm and once night time sets in, there is an extra atmosphere. Live entertainment, plenty of food stalls of all types imaginable and heaps of market goods. After a while, all the stalls can look the same but there are some real bargains to be had.
Everyone was friendly and we never felt uncomfortable or threatened in any way - felt very safe.
Designated taxi stands with defined costs available.

Very good market for authentic and handcrafted items in Thailand it’s surely worth visiting for getting a flavor of the city. Negotiation is an absolute must if you don’t negotiate you will simply end up paying way more unnecessarily. Don’t get fixated at one shop everything is almost available at every other shop. Food variety is great.

Visited last week. Great place. Had a good couple of hours here.
Lots to see. A good sensory experience even if you don’t buy much. Cheap food and a variety of things to eat and drink.
Some bargains to be had although some vendors less reluctant to barter than on previous visits we made in years gone by. Lots of fake stuff so buy at your own peril. Some good quality and others extremely questionable fakes.
There’s a small charge to use the toilets (about 5 or 10 Baht from memory) so ensure you have coins.
Would recommend.

Naka Market is a must-visit spot for anyone in Phuket! The vibrant atmosphere, fantastic food, and variety of shops make it an unforgettable experience. The street food is the highlight, offering everything from fresh seafood, great pad thai and Thai classics to unique snacks and desserts, and is frequented by locals as well.
The market is packed with small shops selling clothes, souvenirs, accessories, and handmade items. It’s a great place to shop for gifts or pick up something special for yourself at reasonable prices.
With so much to explore, you can easily spend 3–4 hours browsing, eating, and soaking in the lively vibe. Perfect for a fun evening out with friends or family!
Be aware that when the place shuts down you are likely to be one out of many tourists looking for a transportation.

We have been to this market several times because it is very large and in the evening it becomes even more pleasant to get lost among the stalls
The only negative note is the prices, which are very high compared to other local markets... you have to haggle heavily to avoid being ripped off
Recommended for a trip but not for shopping (also according to Thai people)

Absolutely huge market with all of the usual stalls selling clothes and souvenirs but the food part of the market is something else. Stunning street food at a fraction of the price we paid in the resorts. The only downside, the heat and humidity as you walk up and down the aisles. We spent about four hours there, which included a few beers watching live entertainment.

We loved our visit to this weekend night market. It's so fun (and affordable) to cruise up and down the rows of fresh food vendors and snack on different local and regional dishes. There is tons of shopping if you want reasonable souvenirs, knick knacks and clothes.
They also sell pretty cheap beer (50 baht for a Singha, Chang or Leo). They have a lot of seating so you can sit down with a drink, food you've picked up from a vendor and enjoy one of their bands they have for free.
We've been once since moving here and I'm sure we'll be again. Definitely worth it to check out if you're a visitor, local or expat.

Definitely worth a visit! Make sure you have plenty of cash with you and practice your bargain skill. Don't be afraid to mach prices and wak away from a stand. We got everything we wanted and needed at the market. The food is amazing, so many choices to try. The live band keeping up with amazing music all night, they're exceptionally talented young people

Exploring the Naka Weekend Market in Phuket was an absolute culinary adventure. This bustling market is a treasure trove of delicious Thai street food, offering a wide range of mouthwatering dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. From the savory delights of Pad Thai and green curry to the sweet indulgence of mango sticky rice, the food options are incredibly diverse.
However, the real gem here is YouKillMe. Their Thai-flavored pastel de nata, including durian and foi tong varieties, are a revelation. The delicate pastries with their unique flavors are a must-try. To complement these delights, be sure to grab a refreshing coconut ice cream near pastry shop to beat the tropical heat.

Is the Naka nightmarkwts the same as the Phuket night markets which has a separate trip advisor listing?

Our driver sais the market opens aleeady 12:00 (noon) and said we can go early. Is it so?

I though it opened around 4 but I could be mistaken, there are lots of markets all around Phuket so make sure you tell the driver NAKA NIGHT MARKET if this is the one you want :-)

Is this market child friendly? We thought of going early, to try and miss the crowds.
Written 24 September 2022
In so far that a street market can be child friendly - yes? However it is busy with hundreds of stalls, so not somewhere you kids are going to be running free.

How much is a motorbike taxi from the market to paying beach please
Written 20 February 2020
We paid 1200bht for a van and driver from Karon to Naka. Trip all up was around 4 hours with waiting etc. not sure about motorbike but this will give some indication for you. It’s about the same distance from Karon to Naka and Patong to Naka

I am visiting Phuket for a few days on my return to the uk . Does anybody know if i can pick up some good fake goods like you can in Bangkok. Ie bags , watches , designer scarfs . Cheers
Written 9 October 2019
Hi!
Naka weekend market has all of the knock offs that you can find in Bangkok. You can find the watches, bags, scarfs, etc.
Be sure to haggle. I would suggest starting with offering half the price the vendor is asking.
Remember.... if the vendor wont give you the price you want, there is always another vendor selling the same things 2 stalls down.
I would recommend getting there at opening time to avoid the crowds or very late because sometimes the vendors who have had a slow night are more eager to give you a super cheap price.

Is it still around 400 baht to get from Patong to the weekend market?
Written 10 February 2019
we paid 800 for the return , including the driver waiting for 3.5 hours. if you are returning its a good idea as taxis etc can be difficult to catch there. i think for the one way 500 would be more likely and a decent price.
Written 10 February 2019
Is it safe to eat the food?
I’ve heard mixed reviews about people getting ill after eating the food in the street markets in Phuket.
Also any recommendations of the best time to visit and tuk tuk/ taxi prices to and from Patong?
