Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This has got so much better and bigger since our last visit in 2018. Lots of choice and you can have a good banter and a laugh when bartering.
Make sure you haggle, without being rude and there’s so much to see and buy. Some things are more expensive - like the spices, I bought the same spice packet in 7/11 for less…. But you’re there for the atmosphere.

Wow. What a range of low priced item.
Large selection of stalls, with very friendly stall holders.
Items from clothing, glasses , hats wooden items, jellery, and many food stalls.
You won't go hungry here.
Thai street food in abundance.
Stall holders willing to bargain.
Usually 1/3 off asking price.
Exciting atmosphere.
Will need to visit again.

The markets open Tuesday’s and Friday’s. As the Thai saying goes, the markets have much of the same same but different. Local cuisine cooked before your eyes. Absolutely amazing. Just remember, you get what you pay for!!! The locals don’t mind a bit of bartering, but don’t be disrespectful!!! Some of the tourists that I’ve seen engaging in bartering have been rude and arrogant. The Thai locals deserve far greater respect than that!! The Temple itself is just breathtaking. It’s architecture in all its glory is just astonishing. Enjoy the market but more importantly, appreciate the Thai culture.

Thought the market was Tues/Fri but stumbled across it tonight (Sun). Apparently on for next 10 nights...
Great atmosphere, live music and lots of food stalls. Some stalls similar through the market but plenty of variety - even some fair ground stalls.
Lots of bargains to be had and worth a haggle.
Food fresh and clean and really cheap. Pad Thai for 80 Baht was amazing and little pork sticks for 10!
No bugs eaten this time...
Great fun all round.

We went for a walk around the market for a change of scene. It was friendly and quite Quiet. A few good food stalls as you walk in and then the stalls to look around. Prices higher than Chaing Mai and choices a little more restricted but a lot quieter and easy to wander. Worth a visit but buy at the bigger markets first if you have the choice.

I’ve been to temple markets once before in 2011 and loved it but this time was a bit disappointing. I remember the here being a very large area with rows and rows of just stalls for and this had dwindled down to a very small area. The shop stalls are nice but I really came back for the food and there barely anything. I hope it bounces back to what it once was now that tourism is back on track. The temple itself is stunning though and well worth a visit.

This market is open on Tuesdays and Fridays. It is located around a temple. There is parking outside. The market is a lot smaller than it was 10 years ago, but it is very spacious. I went on a Friday and they had no more than 15 food stalls. So choice was pretty low. They had other souvenirs/cosmetics and bags/clothing stalls.

The temple market is a small night market. The nice thing about it is that you can shop relatively undisturbed. I would have liked to give the night market 4 stars, but there were too few food stalls.
The market is only open twice a week! Tuesdays and Fridays from 5 p.m.

This was a fun night activity after dinner. They have everything from watches to blankets, clothes, jewelry and fried crickets. The prices seem more reasonable than at the shops in town.
Go there! Feel the atmosphere!
The market is there twice a week, on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

Are you open this Tuesday being New Year's Day?
Written 29 December 2018
I would guess the market would be open on New Year’s Day. I don’t know for sure but would imagine the observance of the Asian new year would be a much more significant celebration for the locals and they rely on the trade from their stalls for their livelihood.

is it easy to get a taxi from the market to head back.
Written 24 November 2017
Yes, we were staying in Kata beach and we grabbed a tuk tuk right outside the market and from memory there were taxis too.

Is this market open on Saturday? I have seen conflicting information saying its open Tuesday and Friday and also read its open Tuesday and Saturday. Which is correct?

So what was the best market you have been to in Phuket?
Written 18 November 2016
Hey, we were there last month. The Phuket, Patong, Karon markets all sell the same type of stuff. The locals are happy to negotiate price, within reason. The Karon markets weren't as busy as the others, and are family friendly.
