Wonderful Reserve to spend a peaceful afternoon. At the East Lagoon hide there are bird feeders which encourage lots of birds- we saw Tree Sparrows, Long Tailed Tits, a Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Chaffinches, Great Tits, Blue Tits and Coal Tits. A Water Rail was pecking...More

This Reserve is a joy to visit! Easy strolling and lots of birds to see. The hides are great and there is opportunity to glimpse so much wildlife. A first for us - spotting a kingfisher diving for fish and returning to the same branch...More

From the reviews on here, a popular place for birdwatchers but not for many others. A new acquisition by YWT and it is a crime that another natural habitat has been adopted, and developed. Watch this space. No dogs allowed.

We spent about an hour at the reserve -to do it full justice you need to spend much longer if you want to see more of the wildlife. A nice gentle walk along well maintained paths with plenty of flora to look at. We spent...More
