We stayed just outside the town in a lovely villa with views of Iznajar town and lake. The lakeside beach is fabulous. The town is nice - small but surprisingly well serviced and busy. Miss Tourist Information was more interested in typing on her laptop...More

You see it from the road. It is perched on the top. Drive up there or walk. parking is easy even if the car wheezes a little getting up there. Great views and not too far to walk to get a well earned drink

The fort only has limited opening times but is usually open during fiesta times. Dating back to the 8th Century, you can walk around freely and there is no charge.

Our first outing in the area which was essentially a walk around this beautiful little town. The town nests on a bend in a beautiful blue river, flanked by olive groves.

Would have loved to visit the castle inside except it was closed when we got there... however that being said, nothing could change my viewpoint regarding this place in general. If you are visiting Andalusia, you should consider visiting Iznajar

A beautiful location. Quite small as castles go, but lovely views, a peaceful location and a nice place to rest after the long trek up the hill.
