I understand why places like this feel they need to cater to children because families must have a hard time going places like this when their kids are bored and impatient, but I felt the exhibits went too far in this direction. The information is great on its own, and one doesn't need to feel like you're at an amusement... More

I left feeling really silly for going. The museum part is for kids. An adult already knows most of the information and the way it is explained is clearly for kids. There is a very lame boat ride to explain that water is wet and fire is hot. It was full of school kids who were really excited and loud.... More

It's an interesting walk down in the Sterkfontein caves whereby the guide will explain about fossil discovery made. The walk will require some bending and perhaps crawling for tall people so it'll be better to have good shoes and long pants on. It's also a little chilly inside, about 18 deg c so a light jacket will be good. It's... More

The interactive museum is very interesting and offers something for everyone, regardless of age. You can go through at your own pace after the little boat ride. If you are interested in visiting the caves nearby, get the combo ticket to save money.

Wish we had more time to spend at this wonderful place. We drove ourselves from Johannesburg which took an hour. The caves were amazing. We bought a combined ticket for the caves and the visitor centre. This attraction is not publicised much but definitely worth a visit.

I would definitely recommend the Cradle of Humankind, the exhibition starts with some explanation on dinosaures. You realize how much has happened in the area, the evolution of humankind. It is a learning experience, interactive and fun. The little tunnel is a lot of fun, would be even more with some explanations! Adults and kids alike can enjoy the activity.

This is a trip that is great fun. I especially enjoyed the boat trip through the tunnel with the wind machine and the lights adding to the fun.

Having visited the Stern font ein Caves many years ago we decided it would be worthwhile to see the Cradle of Humankind. We're we surprised. Not quite what we expected but it was fun and very interesting. I would recommend the boat ride. Most of the exhibitions are interactive and very interesting. I loved listening to the story of the...
