We had such a lovely time at Runswick Bay even though we were there for a very sad occasion. The town is lovely and quite picturesque. We found some decent restaurants and enjoyed the beach walks.

We paid the beach a visit on a very damp and misty day at the start of half term Tide was in (so it was very narrow), path down was very muddy and nothing was open - we walked the dog for 45 minutes and...More

There are some beautiful places along the East Coast and Runswick Bay is certainly one of the most stunning it has spectacular cliffs falling down into the secluded bay with the waves rolling in gently and crashing against the outer bay. It’s a haven for...More

See this place before you cease to exist . It’s the kind of spot that makes you realise that life ain’t so crap after all and not a Starbucks in sight.

Runswick Bay is and has been for hundreds of years a place where artists came to paint and attempt to capture the charm of the place. Full of attractive little cottages built close and piled one upon the other up the cliff. The wide sweeping...More

This is one of the most beautiful bays in England. It's so quiet, I'm not really sure I want to share the secret. It's not commercialised so is a great place to relax.

The village has a shop but not for groceries. Whitby is only about 8 miles and the next big shop is at Saltburn where there is a large Asda on the outskirts
