We spent the day driving up from Townsville. It was quite a long but easy drive. We went to Paradise Waterhole, Little Crystal Creek, Big Crystal Creek and Paluma. I wouldn't bother driving all the way up to Paluma, it's an old town that been on the downward spiral for years so there's not much left there.

Hadn't been the Crystal Creek for about 15 years and decided to have a day trip. The drive can be a bit daunting for an inexperienced or confidence lacking driver but steady steady wins the day, just watch out for other drivers coming towards you on blind bends. The temperature at the top must have been at least 10 degrees... More

Quite a drive to get there (Little Crystal Creek) but once there it is a loverly spot. Not for the infirm or bad on there feet. It does involve tricky steps and walking over borders. The water looked very inviting and there were lots of people in the water. After the visit it is a good idea to travel to... More

Went for a drive from Townsville. Lovely picnic and swimming area, stunning views each way on the drive. Parking nearby, toilets, picnic tables. Lots of steep steps down to the swimming holes in the creek.

While visiting family in Townsville we drove up to Crystal Creek for a day out. We took three kids, 8, 6, and 4. They had an awesome time climbing all over the rocks and splashing around. Took a picnic and sat at a table. You can hang out up the top in the smaller pools or further down near tables.

We have had a very personal and interesting introduction about the history and bird life of Paluma. A presentation of 30 minutes of many beatiful birds with great pictures of Brian O'Leary. And some nice short trails in the vicinity.

South of Ingham, take a left off the Bruce Highway on Mount Spec Road. It's a steep and winding road of about 20km. We have a 1.3L Suzi that had no trouble at all and people were towing trailers up there. There is a picnic area at Little Crystal Creek. Definitely stop here and go have a look a the... More

Jourama Falls.....Consulted Trip Advisor prior to going. Most helpfull reviews online. All I can add it is not really for anyone who won't be able to do stairs and hills. And make sure to hang onto the little ones as the cliff isopen to the side. My mom made it up..yeh . Hope these pictures help if you are undecided.

The Paluma national park offers so many activities. Big crystal creek is stunning. The walk to the creek is easy even for unfit people. There is a short hill and a few steps but nothing to strenuous. The walk is worth it as the scenery and the bushland alone are great. The waterholes are lovely. Don't forget your swimmers and... More

Lovely little creek running under a still used bridge, great for families to enjoy a dip and photographers to capture some landscapes or birdlife. There are washroom facilities on site although for the unwary...these are Long Drop type toilets. The only point to spoil this was the actual visitors themselves leaving behind all types of pollution from Noise to Rubbish.... More
