Beautiful, peaceful and stepped in history. Sunderland is lucky to have this very rare cemetery. I have been going here many times over the years and and always feel at peace here.

Been coming here since I was a child. Great stories about the past and legend has it there’s a headless horseman haunting the cliffs. Some famous local headstones from people from Houghton.

Excellent place, if somewhat scary. Don't do this at night or on your own. Odd that some of the graces are fairly recent. It has the feel of being long abandoned. I was searching for the grave of Sir George Elliot.
