About
The Museum of the Wine Primitivo Culture was created to remind the men and the objects that marked the history of wine Primitivo. The fascinating expositive journey is divided into more than thirty settings in ancient underground cisterns of a nineteenth-century cellar which have been transformed in original environments with different themes. The Museum offers to the visiting wine lovers different wine tastings accompanied by food of the authentic rural tradition gastronomy: during these tastings food and wines are described in detail as part of the local history.

First class tour and wine tasting. Thank you Katia we had a perfect tasting with some meats and cheeses.
Loved the filling station for wine but the Primitivo they have in bottles is a different class.

First class visit
Sep. 2019
Although difficult to find (GPS hopeless) well worth the trouble to find.
Katia Caragua gave us a first class visit to the museum and then to an excellent wine tasting. We have a vineyard and know a lot about wine, Katia knows more. Knowledgeable, articulate and friendly: bravo.
The wine tasting was accompanied by breads, meats, cheeses, almond cakes etc which matched each wine.
Thoroughly recommended.

Could have been interesting..
Aug. 2019
We popped in because we thought it looked interesting. There was a Harry Potter car in the entrance. All was nicely presented, clean and spacious. We wandered around throughout the whole space, but never once did any member of staff ask if we would like to do a wine tasting.

Tour and wine tasting
Jul. 2019 • Couples
This is a great museum of the history of primitivo wine. We had a tour from a lovely Italian lady with great English. The tour which is mainly underneath the main shop is very intersection going right back to how the wine was made many years ago. The tour included 4 different wines to taste of our choice plus nibbles for €15 each which is excellent value for money. We bought some delicious wine afterwards at a great price. Must visit

Amazing Museum, Excellent Wines!
Apr. 2019 • Couples
We discovered, upon visiting the Puglia region, that they had a special local wine there called Primitivo, and couldn’t wait to try it. We drank it at several different restaurants and were never disappointed. We learned about this wine cooperative and were very impressed by the tour given of the museum and the wine tasting. The museum featured a model of a wine village, furnishings and vintage tools. Locals come in to fill jugs with the house wine from what looks like gas pumps! We even were able to order wine to ship home to the U.S. Highly recommend if you like wine!!

Informative and enriching visit
Mar. 2019 • Couples
As wine lovers visiting Puglia, we could not miss out on this museum, which in fact is a cooperative of Primitivo growers and producers in Manduria, home to this grape variety. As most Pugliese, the people here are very friendly and accommodating, managing to arrange a last-minute visit for us.

The English-language (by excellent Katia) visit includes an explanation of locally produced grapes, a tour of the museum to illustrate local farmer life, and a tasting. If you like wine and plan to visit Puglia, I recommend you book a tour.

Dec. 2018 • Couples
we were recommended to visit this cantina, wow wow what a place, had a guided tour for free in english, tasted nearly all of their wines, had free snacks and were able to purchase at great prices, would have loved to buy more and ship to the uk but they couldn't shame as the wine was amazing and very cheap

Need to book 1 week in advance
Sep. 2018 • Couples
Arrived here only to find that to get a tour you need to book a week in advance. When I asked at the centre about a tour tomorrow was directed to an email address.
