Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The museum is just simple amazing the explained from the Big Bang, formation of earth until the first humans.
The display is very interesting in many languages they even have a cinema 😍.
Price per entrance is 60 kunas
The toilets are very clean you even have a place to leave your luggage or big items.
I was very impress, if you take a walk around the grounds please wear some confortable shoes some place outdoors could be a bit stiff
The car park is not big but very useful is free.

Amazing experience, incredibly thoughtfully designed museum offering many thought provoking insights into man's origin and the Earth's origin. Small but packed with info. Everything is translated in English. Hyperrealistic diorama, and thankfully the museum was so much more than that. We were not traveling with kids, but we were there with 2 school groups who seemed not to enjoy it at all. My wife was actually dreading going, but it was really informative and thought provoking and a well worth it overall experience, and a good value.

Fairly new Neanderthal Museum in Krapina was great surprise for me. The tour starts with 15 min movie on how Neanderthals lived, followed by the story how they were discovered, ending with the interactive tour from the Big Bang till today. Not that we just had great fun we learned a lot!

If you are in the area visit this museum, but not on Monday bc its closed. First make sure to watch
introductory film and then take a tour. Its a walk through history from its beginning. It can be very interesting for children also-there is simulation of walking on ice and then you hear and see cracking:), on human exhibit you can touch his body parts and then it shows which illnesses they suffer and other fun stuff.

I had visited this museum a few years ago, but was yet again impressed when I visited with my family last week. The museum is hard to miss (giant toon Neanderthal statue gives it away) and is a must see for anyone who visits Krapina. Tickets for the museum aren't very expensive at 50 Kuna (6.6 €) for adults and half that price for children and students. For 10 Kuna (1.3 €) extra you can get an audio guide. The museum interior is spiral shaped and is laid out like a travel through time all the way from the Big Bang to the Homo Sapiens (modern humans). For me, the most impressive feature was a cave with a life-sized family of Neanderthals made of wax inside. They looked as if they could come to life at any moment. At the end of the "time travel trail" is a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs and books. Outside of the museum is a theme park with old brass statues of Neanderthals and various animals that once inhabited the area. Old Neanderthals would be proud.

This museum offers great experience even for people that don't favor museums. It opens up with great video of life of prehistoric people at these areas and than leads you through fantastic story from big bang until today... Using interactive computer and camera you can have pictures and time travel to the age presented. Great place to visit...

Very well executed exhibition by various technologies. Adults and children can also find interesting content. The diversity of many performance technologies gives an opportunity to gradually discover knowledge about human development. Highly professional videos present the periods of Universe. Every exhibit is briefly commented on. The texts are in Croatian, English and German. For a school trip it is better to take a guide.

Really informative, modern museum. Starts off with a 5 min movie on the lives of a group of Neanderthals featured throughout the museum. All exhibits feature English descriptions posted on the wall. We purchased audio guides for 10 kuna each (they ask for your passport to ensure you return the device at the end) but didn't really need them since the exhibits posted pretty much the same info. Clean bathrooms. Service desk spoke English. You're not allowed to take photos in the museum. Some opportunities to take your photo inside a Neanderthal "photo booth" and you can purchase printed copies in the gift shop at the end. After you leave the building, there is a small path to the site just before you exit through a gate. We spent about an hour there but could have easily stayed longer. Paid parking lot across the street.

It depends on how interested you and your children are in a subject. I would say you can do it in 45 min/1 hour but if you want to take your time and stroll around the park outside the museum than count on 90 minutes minimum.
