Visiting this out of the way chateau was a wonderful way to infuse our drive with local color. The hilltop chateau is spectacular. Entry fee was about $9 each but well worth it, There is a self guided tour / no audio sets / that is very self explanatory. There are lots of steps and tight corners so don't expect... More

Wanted to visit a real chateau so went here.Fantastic looking place and met expected but very limited access to the rooms and very restricted access. Had lunch but in the stables opposite which was a touch disappointing but enjoyed the visit however.

We heard about the Chateau from the Tourist Office in Beaune. They suggested that if our travels on the wine route took us near to Rochepot that we should try to visit the Chateau. I'm glad they recommended it. The chateau has been rebuilt to it's former glory, complete with (dry) moat and drawbridge! Entrance fees are not expensive, and... More

This is a rather nice chateau in terms of colourful roof tiles, small interior garden and overall interior decoration. You really do not see much of the chateau, but what is shown is interesting and worth the effort to see.

We stopped during our bike/wine tour of the Cote de Challonaise. This is a very well restored castle with amazing displays of kitchens, sitting rooms and bedrooms. It will take you less than an hour to tour for about 10 euros. Gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside.

The chateau is a pleasant stop on the 50 km. on the wine route west of Beaune. Be aware that most restaurants close at 2 pm so plan your lunch stop accordingly! The fee for entry is reasonable and incudes an audio guide. The chateau was completed before the revolution and suffered extensive dame during the upheaval. It was restored... More

Beautiful Burgundy castle, with characteristic rooftoptiling, nice rooms (kitchen, knightsroom, diningroom and sleeping chambers) and tower to climb. Very beautiful, not very big (visit takes about an hour).

We went here because it's close to our camping. Chateau is well restored but very small. You won't spend here more than a hour for 9 EUR. Very friendly staff.

The castle was unfortunately a ruin after the French Revolution. Somebody bought it and restored it beautifully. The colorful roof (similar to the one at the Hospice de Beaune) is great. We did not get the chance to do the guided tour, which would probably have made it more interesting. It is worth a detour but probably not a trip.

If you are on a 'chateau tour' in Burgundy this one must be on your list. It's completely restored (based on original documents) after it was destroyed in French Revolution which seems to have made more destruction than Mao's Cultural Revolution. The chateau is furnished and has several interesting rooms, a kitchen, and a tower with a Chinese room (gift... More
