Many people don't realize there are 2 groups of Falls near Kintampo. The popular one, known simply as "Kintampo Falls" is beside the main Highway near the Metro Bus stop North of town. "Fuller Falls" is about 10 miles West of town, the turn off is near the downtown STC bus stop, ask locals to make sure you have the right road. While Kintampo is taller and more spectacular than Fuller, it also tends to be more crowded and rowdy. My family and I have stopped at the main "Kintampo Falls" many times in the past years: sometimes it is lovely, other times it is swarming with rather irritating party goers who trash the place with empty cans and wrappers. If this is the case, there is an upper falls that is not as well visited, just a short hike uphill from the larger main fall.
Fuller Falls, on the other hand, is a series of cascades, which was made into a Catholic prayer/meditation retreat some years ago. You will need to hire a taxi or use your own vehicle to go there but it is worth it. Serene, peaceful, shady, and a great place to safely splash, wade, and climb, even for children. This is our family favorite.
Be aware that there is no food or drink for purchase anywhere near Fuller, so plan accordingly. It is a lovely place for a picnic with beautiful stone tables.

These beautiful falls are hidden away in the woods close to Kumasi/Kintampo highway. The falls is only 4km away from the town on the Kintampo-Tamale highway. This is the point where the Pumpu river falls some seventy (70) metres down beautiful rocky steps to continue its journey towards the black Volta at Buipe.
The Kintampo is shaped as a large staircase. Tourist and also country side people come around to have fun relax after hard time work. The place also has special Hotel facilities for visitors from every where .
If you are interested in visiting some of the tourist attractions in the area, you won't want to miss the Kintampo Waterfalls to. These waterfalls are extremely beautiful and the water comes down from the falls, goes underground, and then about 200 meters away you'll find that the water resurfaces again. very wonderful you need to see this for your self. no need to be troubled on how to get someone around in Ghana who you can Whatsapp us 0247030788/ call 0507035565

We stopped at Kintampo falls to break the road trip between Kumasi and Mole National Park. It's just north of Techiman and a perfect midway stop. Costs 3cedis per person to get in but cheaper if you are Ghanian. Went early morning on a weekday and had the whole place to ourselves- although it gets busier later in the day and at weekends. It's just a few minutes walk from the car park to get to the falls. You should follow the path that branches to the right to see the very top of the falls (just a small waterfall there) and then follow the path by the side of the river for a few minutes to get to the lower falls (the largest waterfall). This is where you can stop and bathe or eat lunch. View is beautiful and the water is clear, could've spent ages relaxing there. Kimtampo Falls is a small site so there's not a huge amount to see other than the falls. There are basic facilities there - picnic tables and toilets.

this place,along the way from kumasi to tamale', is cool!
there are three view points and after the first two you are quite disappointed by what you see...then the third one and the amazing waterfalls...of course:nothing compared to niagara, iguazu and victoria but still nice attraction in ghana

Six of us visited the falls on the way to Tamale. It is very easy to find, signposted and a convenient beauty spot if traveling along the main road through to other parts. The falls are beautiful though the 150 odd steps down to them a little tiring. The young folk took that in their stride.

I went to the waterfalls with 4 other volunteers for the whole day,it costs 5cedi to go in and you get a lad who takes you through each 3 stages and explains a little bit about each stage. The main stage where you spent most of your time is stage 3 the big falls, all the locals are in the water having a laugh and paddling,dancing around. It can feel quite intimidating being white as you feel like your the attraction,myself and 2 of the other female volunteers where asked by atleast 20different ghanians if they could have a photo with me, picking me up, holding me which i went along with but others might not like this. You can go in the water in your bikini or swimming clothes but your advised to keep your top on. Very beautiful falls and alot of fun.

Ghana is hot! So finding this lovely spot not far from the road was a real treat. However we almost didn't go in when the guy at the entrance was asking to pay 15 USD per person to camp on the compound. We declined, calmed down and paid the regular entrance fee just to go take a bath.
To get to the fall you walk down about a hundred steep stairs (and yes, afterwards you'll have to walk up again). The changing area is used as a toilet as well which is a bit disgusting; so it's best to already be wearing togs or swim in your clothes (it's Ghana hot after all).
The water is lovely and cool though the rocks are a bit slippery which makes it a bit difficult to get in and out. Then again local boys will gladly help you and also show you how to slide.
When you're done swimming and if you're lucky there is a bar by the entrance which serves ice cold beer.
Side note: Kintampo Falls is also a popular spot for newlyweds to snap a few pictures. So keep your eyes peeled for brides suddenly descending the stairs.

Had the pleasure of visiting as part of a business trip. Total surprise to see such gorgeous, large waterfalls in this area. Besides, the whole 'park' around it appeared incredibly well cared for and had a very relaxed vibe to it. Lovely place for a little picnic actually. You can walk down the stairs (approx.150 down, 150 up, good exercise!) and get all the way to the bottom of the falls. Cost for foreigners to enter was 20 CD.Or you can do a canopy walk on sort of a ladder bridge, which I found too expensive (40 CD if I'm not mistaken).

Try a bath underneath the waterfall and walk the new hanging bridge over the valley. Food and drinks are available. 20 Cedis entrance for foreigners and 30 Cedis extra for the hanging bridge.
