Description:

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year.

Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

Bank holiday Monday in may

Just become nt members and croome in 10 mins from us. Such lovely staff at Croome, really enthusiastic. Bit of a dull day for bank holiday but had a nice few hours.

As members of the National Trust who live in the South East we don't often venture far. However we found ourselves in the vicinity of Croome and visited. It was a lovely walk along the river Croome, nice gardens with deck chairs dotted around to sit in. The sun was out and we had a great couple of hours.

Visited croome court and really enjoyed looking around the partially restored house (upper floor not accessible) but a lot to see on the lower and ground floors and in a few rooms were volunteers who would tell you a bit of history about the house . Then we walked around the vast grounds and gardens which were designed by the... More

My wife and I were staying in the area and as NT members thought we'd have a look. The RAF museum is very interesting and insightful and we spent sometime watching the video and looking at the exhibits. The walk through the woodland was peaceful and the bird hide is worth a look for Great spotted woodpecker and various other... More

After working within the croome grounds when the main house was privately owned 14years ago it was time to go back and take a look, Very sad to see the main house looking so run down, need so much work doing to it and it's a shame it's empty. I guess budgets don't stretch to make it look like a... More

This is an excellent venue for a family gathering, with lots to interest all age groups, including a play park for the little ones, a lovely walk down to the lake, a mansion to explore, plants for sale, and cafes. A mobility scooter was booked for one of our party, which transformed his experience of the gathering. We requested a... More

I came here with a friend to the cafe whilst en route on a cycling trip from Kidderminster to Malvern. ( I have previously also been whilst looking around the house and park). There is plenty of space both inside and outside the cafe. We sat outside under a covered area which was good as in the middle of our... More

It's rare to be able to see the work in progress on a house such as this. Still so much to do and every visitor will help. You need to go on a guided tour to see everything. Wonderful guides. It was a very wet day so the NT shuttle bus was very welcome. There's also the secret wartime air... More

As National Trust members we thought we would just pop in for a quick walk round the grounds and take a quick look at house. We'd spent ages looking round the RAF Defford museum, which is included in the price of admission for non NT members. The grounds and some of the house were designed by Capability Brown, a rare... If visiting here as a non NT member I would suggest just buying a grounds ticket because the house is almost a shell with most rooms undecorated and unfurnished. The Capability Brown parkland is worth a stroll and the house looks dramatic and imposing from a distance. Sad story of neglect and profligacy from former owners. Will improve over the... More
