Remnants of Roman city. Some interesting remains that are a very small part of what they believe was one of the biggest cities in Roman England. Very good audio tour included in the admission fee. Re-created Roman villa on the other side of the road.

Yes it seemed a bit pricey to get in but I felt it was worth it afterwards. The visitor centre has a very good display explaining about the finds and the local area. The 'Old work' ruins I found very interesting. My only grumble is that the 're-created' roman house seemed a little under done and could have had more... More

We called in with friends and had a great visit, I audio guide is very good and informative. The museum and shop are up to the same standard. Well worth a visit and allow enough time to take in all the detail. There is a great deal to see. Fine weather is a must. Highly recommended well done English Heritage

This Roman city was quite important in its day and next to the major road ( in Roman times) Wattling street which is now a minor country lane. The audio guide helps you to understand how it was laid out, its purpose and how they lived. There has been a reconstruction of the baths to show how they were heated... More

Went to see Wroxester Roman city on Saturday . The staff were excellent . They were extremely helpful . Provided me with an audio loop for my hearing aid so didn't feel left out when our family were walking around listening to the tour . The audio guide brought the place alive and really enjoyed listening to it . Had... More

It says that it was once the fourth largest Roman city in the UK, but they have only managed to find the bathroom... The rest of the city is, well, buried somewhere. The shop was good and the staff were friendly, but could do with a tea/coffee shop. The Roman house that has been built over the road is good,... More

A great place for a couple of hours. Great site with nice little museum and Roman villa reconstruction. But beware, naughty English Heritage automatically try and charge you gift aid without asking!

Staying in Shropshire and want to visit Roman City. Wasn't disappointed amazing ruins of the bath houses, and across the old roman Road the replica Roman Villa. Saw the program on TV where they built it, so was good to see in real time.

I watched a few years back a program on the construction of the Roman Town House on this site and enjoyed it very much. So I thought if I ever happen that way I would pop in and see it. So after a weekend in Shrewsbury, my wife and I called in being members of English Heritage, it didn't cost... More

There is not much left of Wroxeter, yet after 2000 years, that is little wonder. The site is however, far from boring. There is a museum telling the story of the excavations and the artefacts found at the site. Then, there is an audio tour which describes to purpose of the various buildings within the city, mainly the sections of... More
