The gardens are not very well maintained, many of the plants appear to be neglected. The 1500 RPs entrance fee to get in is a bit steep given the lack of maintenance/presentation. It is quite big but you do not get a map and the...More

Loads and loads of plants and flowers. Gardens are very larger but possible to get round the whole thing in 2-3 hours. Entrance fee is LKR 1500 for an adult and 750 for a child aged 6-12. They have toilets there but they're not that...More

Whilst it did seem slightly expensive compared to local prices it was well worth the visit. The gardens are beautiful and offer a wide range of plants and trees. There is a cafe on site but also lots of people had brought their own food...More

It was a nice visit. we went early morning since the sun was still low. It took us around two hours to visit it. You will see during your walk: monkeys, bats, butterflies, squirrel, ..... Very nice and interesting garden, must visit.

Out of the different botanical gardens I have been to, i would have expected more from this one as they have an excellent weather to grow all kind of plants. It was large but not well designed and not a large variety of trees. Everything...More

Title says it all. It's pleasant enough wandering around. Some fairly impressive tress. Probably just about worth the, increased, LRK7,500 entry fee. I'd suggest more benches around, they were few and far between.

The gardens are enormous and well laid out. Use the map supplied when you purchase your tickets to plan your visit. Fairly flat walking so it is possible to cover the entire garden. Electric carts available for disabled visitors or those who wish to be...More

It's a nice botanical garden, but if you just walk a bit in Sri Lanka you'll see the exact same thing. We only discovered the giant bamboos and the giant bats.

It costs 1500 sri Lankan rupees for foreign tourists. I really enjoyed it and was glad we visited. It's beautiful with lots of interesting plants and nice scenery. We walked around the whole place and spent about 2 hours. There is a little café which...More

Large botanic gardens with lots of things to see and an ideal place to stroll around, even on a hot day due to the shade. Huge numbers of bats within the trees and flying around - and some monkeys within the park too. Makes for...More

You could spend a day here if you like plants and flowers. Otherwise a half day is nice to get a good look around. The Golf cart is good to hire for an hour as you get to see the whole area.

Hi Everyone, is there extra cost for the buggies or carts that ply inside? How many people can they sit at a time? Do they have any fixed timing or available all the time?

Yes. There is a charge and for us the time limit was one hour. We had the large cart...I think 7-8 people could fit in nicely. Heard there are smaller carts too.
