A nice hike up to the Lighthouse. But.... be prepared for some stormy winds. Really stormy winds. The closer you get to the Lighthouse the more difficult it’s to see or even move. The gale force winds sweep the sand everywhere. Although it is really...More

I've been travelling Denmark for over a month now, and this was by far the most impressive place I have been to. The power of nature is incredible. And, whats more, its completely free to visit! I walked from Lonstrup (day trip from Hjorring) stopping...More

This was a wonderful experience. On our excursion, we were driven to the lighthouse by a local farmer and his team of plow horses (so cool, right?). The lighthouse is very old and in need of repair. Our guide said that it was doomed to...More

Very scenic for the illustration of modern life versus nature. The now not functional lighthouse is very scenic.

The walk up to this lighthouse buried in a mighty sanddune is around 1 km from the free car park. It’s a well serviced path, that doesn’t get sandy or steep till quite near the end, but then you have to climb a very steep...More

Great experience, use 1hr to visit this tower. This place is like going to Sahara, so cool. I will advice u to bring water, and use flipflops/slippers. I used jogging shoes and they became full of sand.

Very nice and interesting attraction, where you can see the lighthouse very close to the ocean. The view from the top in the lighthouse is so stunning.

Loved visiting this place. Short walk from the parking lot. Recommend to walk without shoes / makes it a bit easier to walk in the sand. Nice view and would recommend to read about the history before visiting.

Free parking, a walk that takes around 15min. Very nice view from distance with the sand surrounding the lighthouse. You can go to the top. Fantastic view from the top. What was not so nice was the garbage laying outside. Also remember to cover the...More

We had perfect weather when we visited, and the view was beautiful! The kids loved the desert around it, and rolled around in the sand! We left our shoes down the hill to walk in the sand, but I do not recommend you to do...More

I'm from Sweden and not that familiar with the trains and buses in denmark. If you can make it to Lønstrup then I expect there to be a bus to take you last bit. If not then it is possible to walk from Lønstrup to the area... More

I think that depends on the activity level your daughter is used to. She might like to run and play in the sand hills - they're huge. It isn't so steep that you couldn't carry her part of the way either. When I was there... More
