I highly recommend Kayak Noosa, the service is absolutely great and the staff very helpful and super friendly. I went kayaking with my two kids, 6 and 8 years old ( on a single and double kayak) and we all had great fun,
My husband and I went on the sunset kayak tour. Being winter, we were the only 2 booked in for the week but they happily took us out anyway (advertised as x4 minimum). Had a swell time. Tour guide very passionately pointed out all the...More

I definitely think this would be suitable for your family group. Our tour lasted about 2 hours and wasn't actually at sunset due to the wind conditions being more favourable in the afternoon. We were on our own with Erica, one of the owners, who was chatty, informative and very competent. She even provided refreshments which we had on a deserted beach.
I can't comment on price as ours was a gift from our daughter. I wouldn't imagine they pick up from accommodation but the centre is on the river so there must be a bus stop nearby. Noosa has a good bus service. We were there in December so conditions will be different in August which is obviously winter in Oz.
I suggest you give Erica and Tracey a call or send them an email to discuss your requirements. They were very friendly and would be happy to answer all your questions.
We really enjoyed our trip and were only talking about it the other day.
