Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice spot to stop for a swim especially if going on to visit other waterfalls at Litchfield. I can imagine being crammed in like sardines during dry season but fortunately we visited 3rd week of October so there wasn’t too many people. Easy hike to get there from the car park. Accessible restrooms. Ample parking.

This is the first place we swam in the region and we were spoilt as it was definitely one of our favourites. It is a windy bitumen road to get in and not suitable for caravans. It’s a short easy walk to the rock holes. It is great as there are cascades of different waterholes to swim in and it was fun starting from the bottom and making our way up the top. There is a swimming spot for all! Only Negative here is people left so much rubbish, there are no bins provided so be aware that you will need to take it with you.

We arrived close to 11 am and the lower pools were occupied, so we went up to the top and had the pool to ourselves for quite a while before others joined us. We slowly moved down as others left. Just fun, but some pools are deep and sides are slippery and not always easy to climb out. No recommended for nervous swimmers or those with little agility. Scoot on your bum to get in do you don’t slip and fall.

The waters originate upstream from freshwater springs and flow towards the Florence Falls. The pools are ideal for those wishing to take a refreshing swim among Buley Rock pools and cascades. There is an upper and lower entrance to the pools as well as a short but easy loop walk around the pools. Waters are replenished every wet season.

Even though it was mid winter (aka dry season) the water still flows lots. Just the right amount I'd say. I got there late afternoon so it's wasn't overly hot and I found the water to be ice cold so didn't actually get in. But what a lovely little spot. Packed with people as per every water hole and water falls in N.T. Just find your spot like everyone else. I visited on Monday. Pathway and tracks are not suitable for wheels chairs. (see pic)

Nice waterhole but hard to find a safe spot to get in. Rocks are jagged & very slippery, so not a good place to have a fall!! so we decided to just cool off by putting our feet in.
Florence Falls is a much better swim place as it has a railing to get in & wide steps - so much less chance of an accident falling in.

Even though this place was packed there were so many little pools and pockets of water down the waterfalls, that you could find somewhere to cool off.
The pools were nice and cool, but the one we swam in was difficult to get in and out of as there are no steps or handrails to help you get in and out. Further up where areas you could sit easier in shallower pools. Walk around and see what suits you best.

A top spot to cool off after a big day visiting all the top spots in Lichfield National Park. If the car park is close to full you know you are going to struggle to find a spot to put your gear down if you have any, so travel light. If it's not so packed, then it's a good spot for some decent photos.

Good sized car park. Short, easy walk in which started as a path and then turned into walking along rocks. The Rockholes were staggered down the falls so you just choose where you want to swim and if you are lucky like us you can have to whole section to yourself. Be careful, the rocks can be very slippery though. Some of the rockholes are deeper than others. Clear water. You can swim and sit under the falls as the water travels down. You can then walk out and do a loop rather than walking out the same way. Toilet near the car park.

I believe Buley Rockhole was our second stop while in Litchfield National Park? We did this right after the Termite Mounds. Is a short walk to Buley Rockhole. One can swim in the downstream Creek or just lay out on the rocks. Absolutely wonderful! Is a must see for everyone, including families with younger children. Not much for taking infants and too young with a pram.
