Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located on the Nort Eastern side of the Island this beach is located between the beaches of Aposelemis and Tritonis.
The beach stretches along the coast for more than 1 kilometre and it's width varies. It is a predominantly sandy with shingle. The sea is crystal clear and gets deep rather quickly.
At the top end of the beach, near the beautiful Agia Marina Analipsi Chuch, there are sunbeds and umbrellas for the use of hotel guests. This is a busy part of the beach.
There are a number of restaurants/tavernas near by some have tables and facilities on the beach as well as sunbeds and umbrellas for their guests.
Sunbeds and umbrellas are available to hire.
Away from all of this there is plenty of room to spread out the towels and beach mats and relax and enjoy.
Aris Water Sports (AWS) are located on the beach, they provide an extensive range of water sports to suit everyone.
There are showers and toilets at the beach.
In the evening this is a great place to take a stroll along the lengthy promenade, maybe stop at a bar have a cold beer and watch the sunset.

As a local who lives in heraklion I have to say that many reviews are false or biased. There are a few beaches in analipsi and kato gouves. Some are good, some are not so good. But there are definately a few good sandy beaches. There are also beaches in hersonisos. The place is beautiful. A lot of locals tend to buy second houses in the area. Analipsi and kato gouves are next to each other and they are more as a tourist resort as they are seaside. Also, they are a lot more quieter than Hersonisos, located a few km away. More likely for families. If you want to see traditional villages you should visit Ano Hersonissos (the village of Hersonissos), piskopiano, koutouloufari, mohos. If you want isolation, beautiful sea views and nature you should stay in Agriana/Prinolagkado. Agriana is located in the middle of analipsi and hersonisos and it is away from all the hustle and bustle. You can always visit beaches in analipsi, kato gouves, hersonisos, anisaras from there as it is 2-3 km away. You definitely need a car if you stay there. You could also visit Malia and Stalida. Agios Nikolaos and Elounda is about 40km away, worth visiting. But if you want pristine white beaches and calmness without crowds and you are in for an adventure (as it is far away) you should visit xerocambos (Lefki). I strongly recommend xerocambos if you don't want a tourist resort, there are only a few taverns - cafes and a few apartment rentals. But the beaches are incredible. There is mazida, the big central beach, a smaller one, the clay beach, krinakia beach, alatsolimni etc. North of xerocambos there are a few traditional villages such as lithines, ziros and xandras. And close by is the famous Vai. A lot of incredible places. You could visit Sitia or ierapetra and makris gialos. Heraklion and Lasithi have such a vast variety of options. You could also visit the beautiful chania and rethymno but I feel that heraklion and lasithi are so underatted.

We stayed for a week in Analipsi and this was the nearest beach. Have to say it’s not the most attractive beach on the island - in places there was a lot of seaweed piled up and it’s usually quite windy as well. A lot of the beachfront hotels have their private sun bed areas but there is plenty of space and you can hire sun beds & sun parasols for a reasonable price (around 8-10e for two beds and a parasol). There’s a water sports area and the tourist land train has a couple of stops along the promenade. Plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Its an average-looking beach, sand on the seashore. We stopped there to stay a day, it was totally empty, but immediately left when noticed that a massive toe breaking contiguous stone layer is under the turbid water within 3 meters.
Disappointing that the Tritonas Tavern’s cashier collected the sunbed fee very fast for the use, she knew it very well that people would leave when the stones become clear.

Stayed at the Blue Alba Insula. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Although 7years old it looked like new.
Rooms were fantastic and clean. We stayed half board and this gave us the freedom during the day to do our own thing or go on excursions.
The staff are wonderful and polite and Manos at the pool bar was the best. Very good with people.
Restaurant food had loads of choices and the desserts were to die for.
Well done TUI

In April the sea temp was tolerable and we enjoyed it thoroughly! Swam and explored the rock pools almost everyday during our stay at Stella Island nearby. As you walk down theres a sandy area as well as a beautiful cliff pier where its exciting to see the waves crash into when the tide is high. Beautiful during sunset

Stayed at the insular alba Hotel. Only downside was no private beds on the beach close by. Beds and parasols available on vetch for 7 euros a day.
Plenty of restaurants within short distances.
No real nightlife for youngsters but ideal for a relaxing holiday.

We walked along the coast to this beach from Gouves as it was highly rated. While it was nice and quiet, it wasn’t as nice as the beach we’d come from. However, it’s a big beach with lots of space and water sports rentals if you’re so inclined.

Analipsi is an authentic place. Somehow it seems as if it is about to be developed for tourism. There are very nice hotels that are huge. We stayed in a small 3-star hotel. It was authentic, friendly, well organized and inexpensive.
The place itself is well connected. It is in the suburbs of Heraklion and its airport. The motorway is easy to reach and other areas of Crete can be reached quickly. But be careful: the beautiful beaches are on the other side of the island.

Long beach with different sections. Sand and shingle with some areas that had big rocks in the water. One area had a complete layer of rock as you entered the water but walk along and in front of the big 5* hotels, the beaches had been cleared and were lovely. There is a big water sports section. The water was very clear. Some areas had big waves!

На разных пляжах по разному, но примерно 6-8 евро за 2лежака с зонтиком. Но есть варианты, когда рядом кафе-кто что то берет в кафе, тому лежаки бесплатно.

Are there any walks in the country side from the sensatori hotel area.
Written 21 July 2017
There are walks but mostly up hill and quite barren due to the area however the beach walks are very good but in need of a good clean up catch the land train its great value for money, takes you to old hersonnosis and new but you can jump on and off at will, worth doing.
