Falassarna Beach is a long open ocean beach with lots of waves so good for surfing. It is split in to several sandy coves such and Big Beach. Enjoy the Tavern and beach bars near by.

Kilometers long and wide sandy beach with crystal clear water. Very easy to be reached. Falassarna beach is located on the left side of Balos lagoon and both a separated from the mountain. The beach offers great views and comfort, as it is sooo spacious! For all people who love waves - go on a bit windy day and you... More

We came to the beach by driving 1hr from Chania town. The road is very easy to drive and only very small portion of mountain road in the end. There are several free parking 20 meters from the beach, so we think by car is the best way to go there. We came here by the end of Oct and... More

We visited Falassarna on a windy day in July. The drive there through the mountains is quite magnificent, especially the final new kilometers down to the beach. My kids love waves so we brought our boogie boards and they spent the entire day riding the waves. HOWEVER, great waves requires great winds, which makes it near impossible to put up... More

We came from Chania to Falassarna by bus. The beach is downhill on the route, so as one approaches, one gets a perfect view of the beach and nearby mountains. The view is breathtaking. The beach itself is clean and long enough to accomodate a large number of people without it feeling cramped (keep in mind that I m from... More

We drove over a mountain with hairpin turns making the drive to this beach an adventure but worth every bit of the drive. Breath taking views with amazing 1300s fort as back drop. Need to visit this side of the island on a nice weather day.

Long sandy beach (>2 km) with amazing colors in the warm sea in October. Visited several times, and sometimes only tens of people, sometimes perhaps a hundred in all beach. Several (mediocre) beach restaurants with free wifi, easy and free parking, toilets available and sunbed complete for 6 EUR. Great place to visit and swimmable through all October. In northern... The beach is long, clean, with good nice natural sand which is good to walk in, not something filled back to cover rocks lik in other places. This one is real from nature. Waves comes slowly in there from west, and you can rest under the umbrella enjoying a cold drink which is served to you from the restaurant above.... More
