    Highly recommend
Went to the small beach (twice). Nice & Quiet, sunbeds and parasols available, nice little taverna. Clean water. Big waves. Loved it. Maybe not so suitable for really small children while the water gets deep quickly. Lifeguard takes his job seriously.

    Incredible beach
Definitely one of the must see beaches in Crete, near Chania. Another great drive to get to this one and well worth it once you arrive. Nice, sandy beach with plenty of lounges and area for tanning plus the perfect western view for the sunset. If you're going to Crete for beaches, you won't want to miss this one. Plenty of parking too!!

    Beach with streaks of pink.
Went with family of 6 adults including children in mid twenties. We hired a cabana for €50. You will need shade so either that or rent sunbeds for I think €25. Sand beach with streaks of pink sand which you can clearly make out in the shallow water which is crystal clear and warm. Not far off the beaten track and easy to get to if you have a hire car. Beachside food is very affordable and pretty good quality. If you are staying in Chania then worth the 45 minutes or so journey.

    Amazing beach, definitely worth visiting
Amazing sandy beach with cristal clear water. We had days with some nice waves, great for lots of fun in the water. Can be quite windy sometimes, worth checking the wind conditions before going there. Great facilities and staff at Paraiso Beach (where I've stayed for several days). 20, 30 or 60 EUR for sun beds, good food and drinks.

    Gorgeous, relaxed beaches
We really enjoyed the choice of beaches along the coast at Falasarna. Stunning clear water, and rocks if you want to snorkel, fine sand, coarse sand (at the northern end). Something for everyone. Lots of families, a quiet and respectful vibe, which we really appreciated, and reasonable prices for sunbeds for the day (Euros 15 for two). Just fabulous. Thoroughly recommend this part of Crete if you want to wind the clock back 30 years and enjoy Greece as it used to be.

    Beautiful crystal clear water
Beautiful huge beach, crystal clear amazing water, enough place for everyone, great for both swimming and chilling, adult person can touch the ground in the water far away but at the same time swim freely. Umbrelas to rent for 30€/ day. Otherwise the sand is heating, no shade. Outside shower for everyone. Place easy to reach. For me and my partner much more beautiful than Elafonisi beach. :)

    Nice
This was probably the best beach in all of Crete. We visited it in a really windy day. Therefore, the sea was a little wavy. But we never expected it to be both wavy and clear. It was the clearest water i have ever seen, and you could see around 20 meters away with goggles underwater. I really suggest it for every family which visites Crete

    Prefect beach day
I was very worried about going to Falassarna beach bc of some of the reviews, we were driving an hour from Chania, but it turned out to be great and well worth it. We really enjoyed our day there. The drive was easy. We went to the main Big beach which was really nice. Parking was easy just a 2-3 min walk to get there. It was crowded, but not as crowded as I expected. There were plenty of beds and umbrellas, when we arrived around noon. The first section was full, but if you keep walking down beach to the right, there are many other options. You need to bring your own towels. We splurged for a cabana on 1st row which was 50€. There is food service brought to your lounge chairs. The water is absolutely stunning, it’s crystal clear and transparent. The sand is beautiful and soft and you could walk along the beach about a Km. It was a bit windy the day we went, but really not very bad. Overall it was really great beach day and well worth the visit. Don’t hesitate.

    Special & Spectacular
Sometimes you wonder if a car journey in the stifling heat is worth the effort. No doubt it, Falasarna Beach is spectacular. West wind was up but definitely adds to the drama of this well looked after area. Pleasant drive in, loads of free parking, €20 for a sun bed, you’ll need one to escape the July heat. Great amenities and good restaurant. It’s a spectacular place to visit. Definitely put this on your holiday to do list. I’ll becoming back!

Great beach with friendly service and great food
We visited this beach during our visit to Chania. Sandy beach with beautiful, crystal clear water. Little bit of surf here both days, but very nice. The food at the beach club was great. We had the prosciutto pizza and the burger and both were great. Front row beds had a 300eur minimum spend, so we took second row for 50eur. Nice cigar selection too.

Been all over Crete and felt this the biggest ripoff. 30 for sunbeds and 24 euros for bottle of wine. Almirida 10 euros for sunbeds and 6 euros for half litre of local wine which was very drinkable as an example.
Found a couple of traditional tavernas in falassarma still honest Greek people en plo still local and honest and several up road on way out. Be very choosey where you eat and drink here.

Fantastic beach and emerald water. An amazing place for visitors as well as for us residents who live in Crete. However the obscenity of locals to gain as much as possible, have driven us away since the prices for a set of sun beds and umbrellas has risen by 250%. I am Greek and my salary is not enough for thieves. Shame on you.

This is a long sandy beach with very clear and calm waters, accessible by an easy one hour drive from Chania. Very beautiful and inviting. There are several beach clubs renting cabanas with lounge chairs, and a waters sports hut in the middle of the beach offering windsurfing, paddle boarding, and wing foiling. It’s busy, but felt more spacious and pleasant than Ellafonisi. The parking lot is right behind the beach, which seems to get less busy as you move further up to the right.

We went to this beach thankfully by public bus instead of paying the highest in the world taxi fares of Greece. Dismayed to find that we landed in a desert, super hot in June with no shade anywhere. It is neither pink sand nor powdery as advertised. So we dropped Elafonisi beach trip next day and winding up Greece. Earlier we visited Kallithea beach because it was said to be powdery white sandy beach after paying 110 Euro by taxi from Thessaloniki to find it was a tiny patch of beach in a slope difficult to climb back and the beach did not have powdery white sand. Not sure what people mean by powdery white sand beach. They should visit Sae khaw beach of Koh Samed of Thailand to understand the real powdery white sand beach.

We chose to take the long drive to Falassarna from the beautiful online pictures as we were already in Chania for the day having driven from our Rehtymno hotel. So first the maps app gave us directions to the wrong beach and maybe it is also called Falassarna but it was right in the Chania town. The real Falassarna beach was an hour out and it had stunning turquoise water. The parking is close by with a short walk (5”) to beach. There are sun beds and umbrellas for 30 euro (2 lounges and an umbrella). We brought our own towels and umbrella and it was not good because the gusts of wind were powerful and relentless for hours. Around 4pm the offshore winds lessened. There was plenty of room to put up umbrellas and lots of people doing so. The smart ones had stakes and strings to tie down the edges of their umbrella and their umbrellas didn’t budge. We had to lay ours diagonally and sit with our backs against the inside of the umbrella to get the shade it provided at this angle. At any rate, the water is clear and gorgeous and has some waves, but not big waves that we see in California (thankfully). I enjoy floating around and not having to worry about keeping an eye out for big waves to decide whether I have to swim toward it and go under it or what. Just floating around worry free is what it’s like at Falassarna and the water gradually gets deep though I can still touch the bottom with and I am 5’5”. Water temp was lovely and easy to get into unlike some Crete beaches we visited where it was distinctly cooler water. There are several restaurants at the beach on the sand. Showers, bathrooms, and changing stalls.

This beach deserves its standing as a beautiful beach in Crete. Nice sandy beach, lots of private spots to enjoy the scenery, parking close by, restaurants and accommodations. Surrounded by olive groves and farmland but beautiful villa's/hotels along the drive down.

Recommend a visit 👌

The road down to Falassarna beach reveals how long the beach is. There are various ways to reach the beach from south to north.
The peninsula at the northern end flanks the archaeological site of the old port. It is reached by a rough track.
There are rocky places where pink sand my be visible and snorkeling is possible.
A small number of hotels have now been added, also some very good tavernas, one of which is near the windsurfing centre. (Wind can sometimes be a sandblasting problem)!
Deres Horse Riding Center provides a complete experience of the riding, sunset, and evening meal - at a cost!
Sunloungers and parasols are available in a number of locations.
Sunsets depend on weather, but are usually fabulous.

One of the best beaches in Creta. It is just stunning, free parking, nice restaurants with facilities, perfect place to be with children since the water is calmed, clean and the sand is just amazing.
