A beach not too be missed!
Gorgeous stretch of uninterrupted fine sandy beach with coloured cliffs most of the way. Cliffs had fissures that made them amazingly beautiful. Different colours can be found in certain sections. It is a 6 km stretch with cafes dotted along. Hardly any shade though if you plan to have a picnic.

    Beautiful stretch of beach
Lovely walk in the sun. Cliffs are stunning. We set out on Ohlas De Aqua beach, walked left over the rocks as tide was far enough out and took a nice leisurely 2 hour walk along until we reached Vilamoura Marina. 3 beach cafes/restaurants with WC/ beds and parasol available along the way. Bridge over into the Marina, turn left and follow the road around, nice shops and restaurants all around the harbour. Took the number 9 bus back to Ohlos De Agua for 2.40 euro each.

Beautiful sandy beach with perfect snack bar a walk away
Beautiful sandy beach keep walking for traditional bar cafe called Praia dos tomates. Traditional food at half the price of the ones at the beginning of the beach. A good walk from the start of the beach, say 30 minutes or so but walking along the sea front with the waves splashing against your feet keeps you cool! You will see it up on the right up half a dozen steps with big parasols. Very friendly too

Lovely public beach suitable for long walks
Lovely public beach suitable for long walks. Gets busy around 10am, but if you come before that you can mostly have the place to yourself. You can rent a beach chair and umbrella for the day if you like, but you can also bring your own. Limited food and beverage options - one small café. Surf school for those inclined, some local surfers. Getting to and from this beach involves plenty of stairs (100+), so it might not be suitable for people with mobility problems.

    Unique beach
A very attractive beach with the colours of the cliffs contrasting with the sands, blue skies and seas. Its an interesting contrast to the golden cliffs and sea stacks of other areas of the Algarve. It reminded me of some remote beaches I'd been to in Western Australia, but here it has resorts around so is much more easily accessed. On a sunny and windless winter's day it was warm enough for the kids to play in the sea, they enjoyed the waves (which may be too rough for younger kids). You can go strolling for some distance in either distance, and at the western end continue on to Olhos de Agua either by hopping rocks at low tide or on pathways above the beaches and rocks at high tide.

Love the coloured cliffs along this beach. Wide open seas with pristine sandy beach for about 6 km. You can also walk on top of the cliffs and look at the ocean from up high. A beach not to be missed.

In mid-November there was not much life on this marvellous beach as we took a long walk. But the red-coloured cliffs were magnificent and it was amusing to see the playful birds, like the Ruddy Turnstones, Yellow-legged Gulls and a solitary Kestrel along the beach. We didn't have the strength to walk all the 5 km from Olhos d'Agua to Vilamoura, but what we saw was fantastic. There is a well-prepared footpath on the top of the cliffs above the beach, giving lovely views of the beach and beyond.

A beautiful beach with golden sands and stunningly coloured cliffs. Whilst we didn’t make use of the Atlantic Ocean other than a paddle, we did enjoy a long walk on the wet sand in glorious sunshine.

The best beach I have been on ( I have been on a lot) and temp was 25-31 degrees Celsius every day. Water was swimable but waves were a bit much for older but great for surfing lessons and body surfing

Fab flat coastal path...perfect for running! Well maintained and open. Couple of places to stop and eat. At the end there is a small but very well stocked shopping mall.

When you read that this is one of Europe's best beaches, you will look forward to seeing it. But when you get there you will not believe how beautiful and amazing it is. The sand is like powder and the cliffs are like a painting.

the most beautiful cliffs in algarve. The water was perfect and the sand was very soft.

It was not crowded.

Let’s get the negatives out the way straight away. This beach is not easily accessible for those with mobility issues. Both the entry points at the Albufeira Surf Adventure and the Algarve Gardens Sports Resort involve steps, especially at the surf adventure where the wooden staircase down to the beach is an impressive piece of mechanical engineering. Also Praia da Falésia is not blessed with facilities, with the Strandbar Alfamar at the Garden Sports entrance being about it.
If either of these points cause you trouble then perhaps you are better off initially using Praia do Barranco das Belharucas or Praia do Poço Velho which flank this beach where the access is easier and the facilities greater. From both of these you can walk to Praia da Falésia which is worth doing as it is a vast expanse of sand with no rocks And the advantage of the scenery made by the very colourful rock formations of the cliffs that line the beach, shielding the beach goers from the few hotels on this section, which are built back from the cliffs away from view.
If you do combine all three beaches then it forms a 5km plus stretch of sand stretching from Olhos de Água all the way to Vilamoura. This is a fantastic promenade, which the locals undertake in their numbers.
