Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During our stay near the shop we went to visit it on a more rainy day.
The owner immediately opened the door and invited us in. The nice smell of the cheese was all over the place.
She explained everything with great dedication.
Not fully sure it was because she loves to talk about it or she's a great seller...
We tasted the oil soaked cheese, the home made sausage and the chestnut honey. All very nice
We ended up buying the chestnut honey, the home made sausage and 2 liquors (bazga and medica)

I think the prices are a bit overrated.
We bought the medica in regular (not so fancy) bottle because it was cheaper.
Later that day we saw that the official medica liquor (in fancy bottle with tax strap around it) is cheaper than the one that we bought... (see attached picture)

On the way to Plitvica we stopped by this farm/shop. The road towards it, is a bit bumpy and you need to drive all the way to the end. The people are really friendly and let you tast the products. They got: cheese, wine, honey, meat and jam.
The prices are a bit higher, but its mostly homemade.
I highly recommend coming here.

We were taken to the farm by Funky Zagreb Private Tours when returning to Zagreb after a day tour to Plitvice lakes. The farm is off the main road and in a rural setting. The farming family originally from the city chose to move to the country to enjoy a better lifestyle. Initially the farm produce was made as it often is from subsistence farms, they soon realised that to make a business they needed more technical skills and so returned to university to study cheese making. Now after some years they are taking in milk from neighbouring farms and producing a wider variety of cheeses.
The visit included a meal of typical Croatian dishes and wines from the area. While their facilities are modern it is not too far a bridge to see how people lived and worked in this rural area.
The family are most delightful and will help you enjoy the experience realising how the produce is grown as well as how the meals are prepared. If you are interested to get off the beaten track find this place on your way to or from the Plitvice Lakes and Zagreb.

We were driving to Plitvice Lakes from Zagreb and were between Tocak and Slunj when we saw the sign for cheese down a side road. About half a km down the gravel road we found a quaint little farm with a shop out front. Immediately when we walked in the door, we smelled the delicious cheese. The owners were welcoming and shared their story, samples of their food, and knowledge of the area.

We ended up getting a sampler of fresh cow's cheese, wild cherry honey, and wild boar sausage. I'd highly recommend sampling the different types honey, the chestnut honey was bold and unique. She also had various brandies, olive oils, bee pollen, and more. A wonderful place to stop on the way through the country side, I would highly recommend it.

We were driving from Zagreb to Split off the highway and came to this farm. The lovely couple who own and run the farm make cheese from their own cows. They also have olives, olive oil, wine, slivovitz, and more. They are kind and helpful and speak English and German as well as Croation.
I bought some fresh (so fresh!) cottage cheese and a package with selections of six of their fresh cheeses. Everything was completely delicious.
If you're near here, do yourself a favor and stop by for a little while.

We go there every time we're near by to pick up a few of their really good cheeses. They also have homemade marmalade, savory spreads, olive oil, homemade fruit syrups, juices, all kinds of supertasty food, and the owners are very friendly.
