Visited the Bodega La Geria winery as part of our tour of Lanzarote. A nice winery with a unique vineyard. With the vines growing across the ground and protected by rock walls to protect from the winds.

It was amazing to see the vines were minimal in size given that in just a few months they will be harvested for processing.

Between our group of three we was able to sample both wines and we all agreed that the sweet was the best

Forced to stop here was part of a cruise ship coach trip to Fire Mountain. They tried first to herd us into a room to listen to a sales pitch but it was too hot. We went into the souvenir shop….it is massive and sells a million different items of plastic tourist tat. And it was packed full of people because there were lots of tourists coaches who’d stopped there. It was boiling hot and completely overwhelming and the staff looked at me as a disabled person like I was a third class citizen.

We went to the side to ask for a glass of the “complimentary” wine but as a disabled person I was completely ignored. I tried instead to go the toilet, but the only ones were down a steep flight of steps, and people were queuing down the steps in the full sun to reach them. There was no disabled toilet at all but we were there for 45 minutes…clearly disabled people are a waste of time and space to the owners of this establishment because I was ignored when I wanted the same wine as everyone else and they expected me to wee myself rather than providing the legal minimum of a disabled-accessible toilet.

amazing, how they manage to grow such a good wine in this landscape. hiding the roots in holes of volcanic sand, they are protected from wind and keep the rare water in the ground. nice view and interesting story.

We stopped here for a short tasting session as part of a cruise ship excursion that also included the Timanfaya National Park. It was interesting to see how they grew the vines in stone semi-circles to protect from the strong winds on the island and we had a chance to sample a small bit of sweet or dry wine.

The wine itself was ok but nothing special. They had a large selection of wines for sale, along with various souvenirs, but we were just happy to enjoy the small sample and explore the scenery and views from the car park area. It was included in our tour but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Bodega La Geria is one of some wineries located in La Geria Wine Region, in Lanzarote. I came here to do a guided visit, and it is very interesting. We learn a lot about the history of vineyards in the island (only since 18th Century) and the relation between vineyards and volcano land. Really amazing and very curious. After visiting the facilities, we could taste some local wines (6 of them) and one was directly from tanks. Some of them were excellent and we could eat local cheese. A fantastic tasting experience. Also, the place has an amazing views of vineyards and some volcanos, and the staff was very nice with all group. Very recommendable visit!

Very interesting tour around the wineyard. The guide explained how they are able to grow wine in Lanzarote, which is very uniqe to say the least! Highly recommended for curious people, even though they are not interesting un the wine itself. But for those who like wine, the winetasting was excellent. Afterwards we had some more wine, cheese and ham at the taverna. You can order small amounts of different wines for further tasting, which is both fun and practical if you want to buy a few bottles in the store. They also offer tasting in the store.

Very nice experience — the tour is interesting and not too long, so perfect to include in a busy day. We booked the 3pm tour and went two hours before to eat at the taverna. We had a great simple lunch at very good price. The tour ends with a cheese bite and 3 wine tasting, just enough to choose your favorite to buy directly at la tienda!

We went here for an afternoon wine tasting. The tour was extremely interesting and lasted around 45 minutes. The wine tasting was also really good with lots of different wines to try. It’s defiantly worth the visit and is great value for money.

This was one of the stops on our organised tour of the islands. Typical tourist stop. We were f=given a choice of two different wines to sample which were both good. The views out over the vines in their protective walls is good. I gues if you went on your own the experience would be far better as you would have time to be leisurely and enjoy wine and tapas on tables to one side. The problem here is that a member of the party would have to drive.

We came here twice during our stay. We popped in and had a glass of wine each - the setting is really unique! Then we came back the next day at sunset and enjoyed some wine outside with a beautiful view. There is also a tapas restaurant next door. The wine was delicious!
