difficult and dangerous road

Be very careful if you go on foot to the Red Beach, since the road (path) is too dangerous. Small boats are going there every 30 minutes.

The fun of this location is in the rather rough and red path one had to meander through to get here. You start from a pleasant sea side road, with vineyards and sleepy farmhouses on one side, and then slowly you are into a rocky climb. Thereis rockfall in sections, and you clamber carefully across the slopes. The stunning blue... More

A perfect beach with fine red sand and expensive sunbeds that you can rent them for 2 hours or so. The beach is very narrow so you have to think about the tide.

This beautiful beach is a short hike from parking but is surrounded by signage stating "do not enter" "danger" "falling rock" etc. That said the trail is easily waked and clearly marked. Volcanic rock was beautiful and didn't feel threatened by the peril.

If u want to risk your life this is a good place to do it. Nice colors but not at all recommended for sain people to lay sunbathing. 5 minutes visit to take pics and collect some stones.

I was unsure about what to expect at the Red Beach. When we made it down to the beach, it was a bit crowded, but not unreasonable. The water was great. The hike down was a bit treacherous (not recommended for those who are unsteady on uneven surfaces). I've been to several black sand beaches, but this was my first... More

The Red Beach is an offbeat location and is significantly far from main town areas. This means you get lesser crowd at the beach which is a thumbs up! You could catch a bus from Fira (the frequency of buses are about 30 mins apart) and reach Akrotiri site; the beach is walkable from there. The beach itself is pebbly... More

It was in May when we went there for our honeymoon. It was hot but the water is slightly cold but when you're in the water it got warm again. It's weird but it was lovely lying down in the red beach.

I visited Santorini with my Fiancé and I was keen to visit the red beach after researching things to do locally. We drove to the beginning of the rocky walk to the beach. It is rather a treacherous walk up, over and down to the red beach with basic paths and walkways and some rope rails to hold on to.... More
