Not only are the distillery's galleries both interesting and educational, the natural and man-made surroundings are beautiful and well cared for as well. Drink samples at the end of our visit were both delicious and refreshing. We are glad to have gone out of our...More

It was interesting visit. You could learn about how the rum was produced and have some walk around. Great part is the rum tasting at the end where you can also buy it. Just need to agree who will be driving back :)

There's lots to see here and the good thing is you can do it at your own pace with the self-guided audio devices (although a few of the stop-off points weren't on the English version). There's gardens, sculptures, the old rum distillery, the current ageing...More

We visited the plantation as part of a cruise excursion and walked around with our tour guide. It was a nice walk looking at old distillery equipment and the grounds. My children were not too impressed but they were able to run around outside while...More

We spent most of the time wandering in the 40 hectares of gardens with its statues and art pieces, and admiring the magnificent owner's house that has been continuously maintained in the old colonial style. Lots of history and interesting self guided tour. Rum tasting...More

So much to see: historical créole house, historical distillery, botanical garden, contemporary art gallery, local art gallery and functioning rhum distillery (with complimentary rhum tasting). Also the audio guide is both French and English. Beautiful property and very well managed.

This rum destillerie is different from the regular ones. You can tour the premises, wander around self guided and roue the old open air destillery museum. The wareshouses can be seen, not toured, and the owners mansion is open for roaming around. The tasting offers...More

You should get the audio tour in the language of your choice. It was very helpful to hear the background and history of this place. Especially the story behind the Mitterand/Bush meeting here. This was a nice break from the sun and can be combined...More

I don't remember seeing any. Most visitors had rented cars or came in on tour buses. The area is pretty remote, there were no taxis waiting.

I did notice taxis in the parking lot when we visited. I couldn't tell you whether they would take a fare back to the pier or whether they were there with prearranged groups. You may be able to make arrangements with your... More
