We came here on our penultimate day. It's a bit tricky to find but a bit of research and a local driver is a great help and worth the trip. It's like walking into one of the exotic plant houses at Kew. I noted 5 species of Strelitzia (bird of Paradise flower) within minutes of arriving and the scarce bat... More

It is not easy to find it, but local taxi/rickshaw drivers know it well and google maps also can help. It is a true garden architect and artistic place, giving a special feeling of the decadent lifestyle by former owner. Really worth the effort!

One of best places I have visited in Down South. Very interesting and quite unexpected landscapes and architecture. Good for a leisurely walk among bizarre sculptures. Relaxing environment. A must visit.

Really enjoyed our visit here. It was definitely off the beaten track and our driver had never even heard of it but it was well worth going. Beautiful gardens and architecture. Highly recommended.

Its not a proper garden like what we typically expect but everything is very natural and very soothing to your eyes. You can take a long walk through the garden and visit Bevis Bawa's banglow in the middle of the garden.

Interesting private garden and house to see even though it has the regular plants as everywhere in the region. Some guidance is being offered in the house at the end of the whole tour. Not sure if 1000 rs. are an appropriate entrance fee but it was a nice short trip from Bentota (about 20min drive with rikshaw). Make sure... More

Visited here one afternoon in January for a half day trip from Bentota. A delight for both the gardener and anyone into house/style. I suggest a " Google" first or Wikipedia to read the background. Was able to take some excellent photographs.

Got to know from #yamu.tv. We thought we were totally lost looking at the narrow road. Never thought that there would be vehicles. But there were some foreigners as well as locals. Entrance fee is 1000 rs per person to visit both garden and bungalow. Garden was breathtaking and we were so surprised with the architectural mind of Bewis bawa.... More

I have nothing to add to comments and pictures of earlier visitors. An adorable place, away from mass tourism. I would stay there forever...
