While the church is in full restoration so we could not see it nor the excavations, the walk to the village was nice, village interesting with its houses, and the museum first rate.

We visited the Viking Farm at about 30 minutes busdrive from the centre of Haugesund. Although it was worth visiting we were kinda disappointed because the Viking Farm does not show any original Viking elements. If you take the public transportation (bus) please be aware...More

The entrance to the viking farm in Avaldsnes, Norway. Just an optional stop where you can find nice souvenirs about the vikings and Norwegian culture and you can take a look around. Expensive, though.

If you like history and landscape, it is a meaninful experience to visit the place where the vikings first established, and learn about their lifestyle. Beautiful landscapes to see, too.

At Norvegen kultursenter you will learn about the old Norse Mytology, how Norway got its name, became one Kingdom and how Christianity was introduced. Very interesting and great presentations.

Yes, credit cards are accepted. In general, they may be used everywhere. Some vendors do not accept American Express. Visa and MasterCard you can use all over NORWAY.

Hi, sorry fore my late answard. You can go with buss from Bergen every 2, hour. It takes ca 3 hours drive to Haugesund, with Kystbussen. You can change buss in Haugesund, and drive to Karmøy, but I had prefered a taxi... More

We had to walk from the bus stop, but it's less than a mile.
