About
Lord's Wines was established in 2006 where viticulturist, Jacie Oosthuizen, turned his love for wine and cricket into a cellar. The whole concept is based on the Lord's cricket ground in London. High up on the northern slopes of the mountains surrounding Robertson, in the lush Mc Gregor valley, you will stumble across a gravel road that will lead you on the road to nowhere. At the end of this striking rainbow, you will find Lord’s Wines, cradled amidst fynbos and Proteas. At 500m above sea level, where the vineyards are the highest in the Robertson Valley, a breathtaking panoramic view made the call to establish Lord’s. This cooler climate and real terroir, where nature’s bounty has chosen high altitude for cooler temperatures, where sun, water, soil and slopes are melded, work in perfect harmony to produce cultivars like Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Chardonnay.

Absolutely worth the visit!

An absolute must visit should you be anywhere near McGregor! The warm reception and hospitality was amazing. Samuel went out of his way to make the tasting experience special and we so enjoyed the time spent with Jacques as he filled us in on the history of the farm and all that Lords had to offer. The wine is fabulous and the bubbles outstanding! We will definitely be back and will spread the word.

Lovely surprise in McGregor
Dec. 2020
We were two couples that stayed in the Singleton House. It was very neat and spacious with king size beds that are very comfortable. Because of the weather the inside braai/BBQ is a must have option when in the Cape. The wine tasting was presented by Samuel who was very friendly and knowledgeable. The 10km dirt road that is in very good condition is well worth the travel to get to this lovely wine estate on the hills over looking McGregor.

We enjoyed the wine, food and service.
Waiter was amazing - he really knew his stuff. Definitely worth the short drive off the main road

The Lord's Prayer....
Feb. 2020
The location is Stunning....straddled high up the McGregor mountains about 10 kms the other side of McGregor, this winery is a monument to modernist architecture coupled with the traditional in wine cellars....the wine tastings take place in a large open plan building with panoramic views over a lake which is the nesting ground of their very own blue crane family....there aren't any religious overtones...just cricket!! The love of wine and cricket play out here in a splendid setting isolation....oh, and the wines are good too...two bubblies, SV, Rose, their flagship chardonnay, shiraz and....Pinot Noir...still young but it tastes like it has it's best year to come....there is also accommodation available.......Cheers!

Love Life at Lord's
Nov. 2019 • Friends
An outstanding spot in the McGregor Valley. This wine estate is managed by the family that owns it, and one can feel it. The warm, friendly atmosphere, accompanied by the professionality of all those at Lord's contribute to a unique food and wine experience.
Each wine has a special story to tell - the grapes, the soil, the picking, fermentation and bottling process - all these effect each unique creation of the Lord's brand.
Their 3 Barrel Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Wooded Chardonnay (kept in French oak for over 8 months) are 3 special, noteworthy wines. And the Brut and Rose' MCC are produced with such meticulous care - I will always savour them in future with respect and (of course) enjoyment.
The imposing Lord's venue, a green oasis in the McGregor valley, has spectacular mountain views and, along with the delicious cuisine, is sure to offer an extraordinary, unforgettable wedding or event.
For the couple or the large family, there is a variety of luxurious accommodation available.
But what I especially enjoyed was the 'can do' attitude of each member of staff. These people love what they do, and it shows. You are sure to love visiting Lord's, as I did.

Excellent wines and passionate staff
Oct. 2019
Not only do Lords produce incredible wine (I suggest their MCC Brut Rose and Chardonnay) but the staff are passionate and knowledgeable.
Paired with an amazing view, an uncomplicated and affordable food menu and lush green lawns surrounded by mountain, this is truly worth the few extra kilometers drive.
No regrets

Good service and stunning location.
May 2019
Did a wine tasting and had a light lunch. We had the savoury platter and was more than enough for two people. They have just released their Pinot Noir Rose 2018, which was a perfect accompaniment for our light meal. Beautiful setting with tables for inside and outside seating. Wine tasting gets done at the counter and then you can be seated for your meal. They offer Sunday lunch special which requires a reservation.

Beautiful setting
Jul. 2019 • Couples
Lord's is set on a beautiful farm with great views, beautiful building as well. The wine tasting was a bit expensive for what you get, compared to the other wine estates in the area considering the road you need to travel to get there.

Dear OneGurt, Thank you so much for your kind review, we are very blessed with our natural surroundings and take much care to preserve it as such. As we are currently out of stock with a few vintages (to be released soon) I am sure our selection will make up for the drive with your next visit. Please let us know when you come our way again. Have a great day! Lord's Wine Team
