About
From rural handicraft to industrial technology: this is the leading thread of the Olive Oil Museum. An ancient, powerful lever press, millstones, screw presses and a reconstruction of a 19th century water mill are the highlights of this exhibition, also enriched by historical documents and teaching equipment. A celebration of oil and olive trees, two peculiar elements in the history and civilisation of Mediterranean peoples

I like this museum for many things; educational, just the right size and amount of informations, really really friendly staff and excellent selection of top quality tasty products in the shop. What really stcks out are people; friendly, they know why they are they and what is, suprisingly, still rare, english speaking. Highly recommended.

we were on vacation in Italy because we couldnt go to Crete due to the Covid situation.
So we choose to go to italy as a second goal. we went to the garda lake. we found this museum/shop. It is a small shop/museum. Due to the restrictions of covid. only 30 people are allowed in. The parking space is also small. You can however walk from bardolino. it is easy to get into the shop where you can taste oil and olives. Tours are very small groups so be patient if you want in. Entrance was free.

Visited in May 2022. Nice small (and free) museum. If just walking around, it would probably take you 15 min to go through it. They have some videos (18 - 24 minutes) where you can learn more about the history of olive oil in the region and see how olive oil is made. Highly recommend it.
In the store, you can try olive oils and other products for free, along with an explanation of the different kinds of olive oil and what each is ideal for. Really high quality oils, we ended up buying 3 bottles.

Small museum but interesting, good activity if it's raining. Free admission although of course you exit through the olive oil company shop and may be tempted to buy something.

I highly recommend a visit to this museum located 700 metres south of Cisano. It is free to enter and explains how oil has been produced over the years. There is also a shop if you wish to buy.

Olive oil has been produced in this beautiful area of Lake Garda for over a thousand years. This small museum provides (free) a fascinating history of the olive oil production. It was the first such museum in Italy when it was opened in the 1980s.
Never having previously visited an Olive Oil Museum, I was captivated by all the exhibits here. There is a short video (in English, Italian, French, German and Dutch) from which you learn the various methods used to extract oil from the precious fruit. All the displays are well presented, with helpful captions (in English as well as other languages).
There is an excellent shop in which you can taste some olives and wine. You can also buy, as we did, good quality olive oil, beautiful soaps and tea with olive leaves from the helpful and cheerful staff.
The car park is really small. We were lucky – at the time of our arrival, the place wasn’t very busy and we found it easy to park just outside the museum.

Went here to kill some time during our stay in Garda. Quite an interesting overview of the history of olive oil, additionally plenty of oil/goods available for purchase after. Wouldn't specifically come to this region for this experience however if you are here it is a good way to spend an hour.

An excellent museum located mid way between Bardolino and Cisano. The local bus stopped nearby otherwise it is 1.5km from either town. The collection of old equipment has preserved the history of the industry and is presented in an easily understood manner supported by a multi lingual audio visual. A good quality retail outlet sells olive, olive oil products and local wines. Unfortunately flying to Australia presented an excess baggage problem so gifts were small.

We recently took a private tour and did an olive oil tasting - it was nothing short of amazing. This company has been in business for over 400 years, and the owner Francesco could not have been prouder. He spend a great deal of time educating us on the process, and how to taste olive oil properly. We would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely little museum. Very informative about the history of olive oil production. Excellent olive oil shop at the end with samples to try before buying.
