This cave is a great value when compared to the cost of other lava tube tours in Iceland. As part of the tour you're issued a hard hat and flashlight, as flashlights are the only lights within the cave. The tour guide was great and...More

The cave tour was pretty neat. They are relatively short - about 30 to 45 minutes but interesting. You only have your flashlights to see so once those are off, its crazy how pitch black it is. The colors on the walls are amazing and...More

Well organised. 50 odd feet down, the beauty amidst the harshness of the landscape is a surreal experience. Not to be missed

This was a very insightful trip into how lava tubes are made. There is no lighting but you are given a torch. Great guide A little expensive but this Iceland and one of the cheaper trips

Loved the tour of this volcanic lava tube created by the nearby still rumbling volcano. It only takes about 45 minutes to take the tour and it is amazing the things you get to see. The "twins" is one of the unique formations you will...More

Vatnshellir is a lava tube cave. We love caves so decided to take this tour. We've been in a lot of lava tubes and this one is very impressive -- not as long as some but very deep. They've done a great job on the...More

We took the first tour of the day at 11am. Even before we entered the lava tube/cave the backdrop of Snæfellsjökull Mountain in the sunshine and snow was beautiful. Our tour guide was welcoming, funny and full of facts both about the lava tube itself...More

My friends and I arrived an hour after the official close time (15:00) for October, but the guide at the front desk, "Gummy", decided to give us the tour anyway! The tour lasts about 45 minutes and goes over the history of the cave and...More

We didn’t schedule our tour in advance. We arrived later afternoon and drove to the tour location and they put us on the next tour. We waited about an hour for that tour. We were there beginning of August last year.
