Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The walking trail was pretty manageable considering we did not venture further pass the bridge. We just admired the waterfall from its foot. If you would want the full experience, I heard from the people climbing down from the hike that it can be a little steep and challenging? So if you are up for a hike, maybe this could be your go-to! Just remember to wear firm-gripping shoes!
If you have some time to spare, I do recommend you just heading to the bridge. It was pretty refreshingly serene!

This impressive waterfall was a nice surprise. Feels like it should get more exposure but you are in the land of waterfalls! You can park for free and walk to the top although it can get steep and you will need to watch you step, particularly coming down. Views over the south coast are epic from the top.

Some people might think Im crazy for saying this but this was my favorite spot I visited on my trip to Iceland. I stopped here one afternoon in mid April. I was the only one there. I feel that it incorporates all the geography of Iceland into one little area. Waterfalls, steep cliffs, spectacular views, and even a patch of forest. Its fun to hike up the rocks along the water winding up to the falls and there are picnic tables scattered around the area making it a good place to stop for a snack. There is also a great view once you get up there of the coast. I just found it so peaceful. I walked around for a good hour then just sat and watched the sun start to set. You can see the black church of Budir in the distance (be sure to check that out since its right down the road) I was told its the only black painted church in Iceland.

We stumbled across this waterfall while driving around the area on our trip. It was visible from the road. It was a nice area to stop and take a walk up, and wasn't that crowded. The hike up was nice and it was a pretty waterfall. Not the most impressive one in Iceland, but it was still worth a stop.

You can see the waterfall from the road but it’s much better closer up. It’s a short hike up but pretty steep. And tougher going down. The waterfall is beautiful. Parking is free.

Beautiful waterfall with amazing views of the coast. If you get close to the tall, you can see the basalt columns behind it.
The path from the parking lot to the viewing platform is very accessible, even for people with mobility issues.
We went on a sunny day with little wind (20km/
h). Took our time to go up, enjoy the views and go down.
Time spent ~45 min.
If you are just stopping at the viewing platform, then 15/20min would be enough.
You can get up close through several uneven trails, on the right side of the watercourse, after the bridge/viewing platform.
Be careful if you choose to go up and be mindful of the weather conditions.

No need to leave the car when the weather is inclement, you can we the waterfall easily. After a wet few days the flow down moves very swiftly. Quite a forceful picture.

Sitting in the back yard of a small farm, this dramatic waterfall has its own parking spot and 300-meter well-groomed gravel trail. We hit it in the late Spring, so we welcomed the torrents of water falling over the sheer cliff.

Like other reviewers, we just happened to see this waterfall while driving and decided to park and hike up the hill. It was not very crowded and offered a fun yet challenging hike (due to the muddy conditions, the trip down was a bit difficult). A highlight of our day!
