The villa of the owners of Paul and Tina is located on an open, large green territory. Inside the plot there is a mini-hotel with only 4 rooms. The atmosphere is unique, the owners take great care of every detail of their interior, you really live in a garden of fruit trees, flowers, orchids, huge mast palms are everywhere. And the view of the mountains in the open space is simply amazing. The apartments themselves are simply luxurious, everything is done with a soul, the design is similar to Maldivian and Indonesian villas. The area of the apartment is more than 70 sq. m., competent layout and zoning: two separate entrances: a bedroom, a living room and a kitchen with an island, a large bathroom, a beautiful terrace with views of the mountains and the forest. Paul and Tina, their two daughters, and their older parents live nearby with a big kind family. All of them are always busy, taking care of their huge plot, planting and grafting new trees, growing orchids. We consider Flower garden Bo-Vallon just a unique and heavenly place, we will definitely return.Visited November 2022Travelled with familyWritten 3 October 2023
- RandburgRandburg, South Africa364 contributionsLarge beach with calm watersThis is the beach on Mahe if you want to be in the midst of the tourist crowd and have ample restaurants nearby. This is a very long beach by Mahe standards and the water is very calm. The beach never got extremely busy as people spread out due to the size of the beach. We bought fresh fish at this beach to barbecue at our Airbnb and there are quite a few supermarkets in case you require some supplies.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 October 2023

We stayed at the Fishermans Cove Resort but there is also the Story Resort and Berjaya. There are lots of activites possible . Diving and Snorkelling trips and hire of Jet Skis and Canoes etc. But its a also an ideal place to chill and relax and was never crowded when we were there.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 July 2024
- polina kMoscow, Russia11 contributionsA lovely, calm beach! Perfect for a family vacation 🤗❤️Beau Vallon beach is the longest and the widest beach in Mahé, Seychelles 🇸🇨! Guests from Savoy, Coral Strand, Berjaya, the Story Hotels as well as all those who rent apartments in the area nearby can easily access the beach 🏝️! The cleanliness of the ocean 🌊 there is superb! It was never overcrowded when we were there. It provides an amazing atmosphere for jogging, swimming, snorkeling, canoeing 🏄♀️ or just chilling on the beach with your kids and family building sand castles!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 August 2024

I 've been to other tropical places around the planet and I can not really explain why, but Beau Vallon was the best sunset I've seen/experienced sofar. I was not really looking for it, the sunset just made itself aware to me... watching the sun go down and the changing colors of the sky.... this picture will stay with me for a long long time.

This is not a lagoon beach as we may think but real beach with huge waves and beautiful sand. DO not hesitate to rent Body board to have fun. Thirsty, go to the guys selling you fresh coconut to brink and buy some delicious fruit. Hungry, go to the various group of local people grilling for you fresh fish ! This is a MUST, we did not lunch in any restaurant and a-only eat grilled fish during 1 week. This beach is one of the most beautiful of Mahe.

We entered this 1 mile long sand beach at its west end mangrove pedestrian bridge, then took its raised pathway shaded by tall rubber fig trees. This decades-old protective levee is breached at high tide with unwanted seawater entering the Story Seychelles, Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay and other resorts. We dodged their encroaching beach chairs as we viewed their seaview accommodations close by. At low tide, we descended to a much wider beach to comfortably stroll its crashing surf.
A central 50+ car parking area with a 200m promenade bordered with souvenir, tour & food kiosks and a 10 station outdoor gym makes this area a popular beach for weekend locals. Continuing northward, the beach widens after the protruding La Plage Restaurant before coming to an end at a large cluster of rocks. Walking 400m farther north along the highway, across Big Blue Divers, is the tranquil 1/2km Paplūdimys(Plaza) Beach, a hidden gem for couples.
This is a heavy surf touristy beach, but my opinion has been tainted by spending time on the famous soft white sand beaches of Praslin and La Digue Islands.

Lovely beach with great sand and fairly safe for children. It gets busy but there is plenty of room and shade with cafes and restaurants nearby. Only gave 4 stars because not great for snorkelling but otherwise very nice. No one hassles you apart from the odd offer of a coconut and there are snack stalls where you can get a cheaper meal. We liked the Dolce Vita cafe for snacks and ice cream and loved the Boathouse for drinks and their evening buffet which is dear but actually great value.

Beau Vallon (beautiful small valley) in northern Mahé is the Seychelles main tourist centre, thanks to its 1.7km long and almost perfect beach with fine sand (when there is no high tide) and a smooth getting in and out of the water, thus ideal for children too. At the back of its central part is big walkway between coconut palms and takamaka trees, which also offer some natural shade.
The beach is mostly not organized and I saw just a few loungers from an accommodation and no umbrellas at all. On the other hand there are fruit stalls, souvenir shops, snack bars, restaurants and water sport operators, offering jet ski, water ski, diving, snorkelling. The beach was very clean, when I was there, and there are litter boxes at regular intervals.
Positive was also the fact that not one person ever approached me to sell something, be it a tour, a souvenir. Thanks to the trees by the water one doesn't see too much that Beau Vallon is a very overbuilt area. In general a tourist will be happy to spend holidays here. For my style of travelling I preferred to be based in Victoria, when on Mahé, where I got a better understanding of the real Seychelles and when it comes to swimming the Praslin beaches of Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette with not a construction in sight are hard to beat.

This beach isnt great - despite the reviews. Theres quite alot of litter at times and just generally isnt on the same scale as other areas of the island. Try Sunset beach or Southern areas of the island.
In the evening, the locals congregate in the car park with the car speaker systems blasting local rap tunes. Theres alot of ppl drinking on the beach areas also. Not a pretty site.
There are so many better beaches in the Seychelles - I reckon this one ranks at the bottom of the table. I dont really recommend it with young kids... Again, theres better beaches around the island where you can relax with your family.

We arrived at Beau Vallon Beach, Mahé on Wednesday 28 September and stayed at the beautiful Diver's Lodge, which we can recommend. Just across the road from it is a small beautiful beach with breathtaking palm trees arching over the white sand beach and warm sea. However, the thing that bothered us was the amount of trash, especially right next to the road. We only went to the big beach when we wanted to enjoy fresh coconut milk or go for a delicious cocktail at the famous Beach Shak bar or a tasty dinner at Wooden House. On the last day, Saturday, October 1st, when the tide was still low around 2 pm and we could not swim close to the beach, we just decided to sit in the sand in one of the many tide pools about 20 meters from the small quiet beach between Big Blue Divers and Paplūdimys. On the way we were careful not to step on a sea urchin, of which there were more and more as the distance from the beach increased. As we were sitting and relaxing in the warm water, after a few minutes we turned around to find that just about 30 cm behind our backs on the divide between our tide pool and another tide pool was a BEAKED SEA SNAKE hiding in the sand and seaweed - only about 20 cm of its body was visible from our side. We were very lucky that we didn't accidentally touch it and that it remained calm until we left... We were able to return home alive and well with nothing but wonderful experiences. However, we still have the sight of the extremely venomous snake in front of our eyes and urge you to exercise great caution with every step you take in the shallows.

I have been living there last year and worked for a DMC. I would say this is one the best beaches and there are food stalls if you crave for some Seychelles way seafood. even during the strong waves there were no problem in this area and you can hit the beach anytime you want.
Amazing sunset views <3
In short I can say the "Paradise is on Earth :) planing to go back once the CORVID situation is back to normal

Hi! Typical... I've spent so much time to find a beach without seaweed in March 23 (when I plan my holiday there) and now suddenly I read this. It was supposed to be seaweed there in the autumn and not the spring. Do you maybe have picture a of this?

Bonjour a tous

Would you recommend Beau Vallon Beach? We prefer places with not many tourists but I guess at Christmas time it´s a bit more difficult to find nice and quiet...
Written 10 September 2019
Travelling to the Seychelles for the first time in September. What is the best currency to use, conflicting views online? Where is the cheapest place to buy Seychelles rupee, we are staying in Beau Vallon?
And other tips gratefully received, many thanks.
Written 21 August 2019
Hi, you can change money for rupee but only for your diner, lunch for example. For the rest, you can pay in dollar or euros or I think in your money.
Near the police station, you've got a change (20 meters!) That's the better for you (no charge)
Eat at beau vallon you've got a lot of little typicals restaurants (very good!) you can also drink a fruit cocktails or alcool cocktail as you like they are all good and fresh.
The wednesday is really good for discover the typical seychelles on the beach (it's like a little market), lot of shops, you can eat ;;;
Near the beau vallon, to bel ombre, you've got a trail (nice one) to go to a little anse, and discover a nice view (somtimes you'll see dolphins !)
Go to the marin parc for snorkeling, really nice or you've got an hôtel near beau vallon beach (40 min to walk, take a car or bus !) to snorkel too (ask the people). You can use the beaches of all the hotel on the island .
taste the rhum nice, and all the grilled fishes.
Little fly on the sunset, don't stay on the beach or take a repelent !!!
enjoy
with best regards

We are arriving at Seychelles Airport in November 2019 and staying on Beau Vallon beach, for couple of days before catching a cruise ship. Should we arrange a taxi service before arriving in the Seychelles or is it easier to take a taxi from the airport? We will also need a taxi from a Beau Vallon hotel back to the port in Victoria to catch a cruise ship.Do we need to change our English money to Sch Rupees for these taxis or can we use other currencies? Can we use credit cards with taxis? We are then cruising to Praslin and onto the Maldives, so we don't want to exchange too much currencies in each country. Any good suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Written 9 August 2019
Lots of taxis at the airport costing around 250 to 300 local currency, they don't accept cc cash only, there is an ATM at the entrance of the hotel by the bus stop, it only accepts visa but the exchange rate is normal visa rates,

We have just booked to stay in Beau Vallon, Seychelles, for a week in September. What are the must see things? Any particular restaurants worth a visit? Any recommendations gratefully received, this is our first trip to the Seychelles. Thank you.
Written 5 August 2019
If you have not been diving book a recreational Dive at Blue Sea Divers. Ask them to take you to the Marine Park.
Honestly we didn’t find any particular restaurant that was spectacular. That said everywhere is good.
In the sea from area of Beau Vallon there are good places to eat. Please check out our reviews as we have reviewed everywhere we experienced.
You will have a great time. The water is like a warm bath.
