Unfortunately you cannot actually enter the church but can only look in through a grille. Otherwise the view of the surrounding countryside is great

Kloster Banz is a splendid baroque former Benedictine monastery with fine views across a valley in Ober Franken (Upper Franconia) in northern Bavaria. It is now owned by a political foundation linked to the german CSU party, not a promising venue for food and drink,...More

A place where you can relax, chill, take a walk and breathe the fresh air. Ah, and enjoy the great German beer! Totally worth for a sweet weekend escape!

I traveled to Kloster Banz from Munich by train. Kloster Banz is a nice city with historical touch. I stayed in the castle which is really nice and probably the main attraction of the city. People are warm and humble.

This monastery is really impressive from the outside, but unfortunately the general public can not access any p[art of the building. Even the church has restricted access. The church, however, has guided tours but did not offer them on the day we were there.

...monastery with a beautiful church. The view is nice as well and they seem to have quite a good beergarden/restaurant. The Hans-Seidel-Stiftung seems to use most of the complex - great for those that earn a stipendium and hold meetings there.
