Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited on a Sunday, when there was a large and lively street market flowing over two of the streets up to the old town. Most stalls had cheap footwear and household goods, with relatively little in the way of food stalls, but we found some excellent bargains amongst the wallets and children's clothing - don't forget to barter! Glorious views of the Parco dello Madonie, but beware driving down the maze of winding streets as many are almost too narrow for a small car, even with the wing mirrors folded in!

Incredible, small hill town in the Madonie mountains. Watching the clouds roll into Piazza Santissima Trinità is one of the most amazing things you can experience. A few good restaurants and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Best of all VERY few tourists!

An interesting city, suitable for tourists. Maybe due to the fact that we arrived at lunchtime and was warm, we saw only very few tourists. An old, extremely quiet town with a panoramic view of the mountains. Unfortunately, many shops closed at that time. Honestly, it is worth discovering this city with a wonderful architecture.

There were no other easily identifiable tourists. This old town is quite beautiful with views around. I was disappointed that the churches were locked the day I visited. I did get quite lost. (Remember where you park your car-- I recommend right at the beginning of centro historico on the street).

Maximum disappointment!
We went to Polizzi Generosa at 5pm on an August afternoon full of expectations for the village and curious to try the Sfoglio of which Polizzi boasts the paternity.
Walking through the alleys of the center is hell: you constantly have to dodge smoky and noisy cars that pass by at speeds regardless of pedestrians.
The entire center is basically a parking lot.
It is impossible to admire churches and buildings from the 1300s due to the amount of cars that park in front of them.
As for the leaflet, it was impossible to find it.
All the bakeries were closed: in Polizzi, they told me, the bakeries are not open in the afternoon, and the only bar/pastry shop open was out of stock!
We fled at speed towards other decidedly more worthy destinations, see the Petralie.
