Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The landscape and sea scape are beautiful. Definitely worth a visit as a change from hotels, restaurants and towns. Come for the scenery, views and peaceful vibe, rather than with expectations of particular special ‘things to see/do’ and you won’t be disappointed by nature.

We did the smigies trail. 6,5 km, and it was beautiful. Not to rough, but enough to feel it in your legs afterwards. Bring water!

Truly breathtaking views of the Cypriot nature, must be in the schedule for anyone visiting the region.

Although DO NOT fall for buggies or quad rentals, the roads can be very dangerous, besides the rough exposure to sun, dust and wind in a rather remote area. Also wouldn't recommend driving a regular there.

Simply pay the price and go with a Jeep Tour that has a professional driver familiar with the area, it's totally worth it.

Rented a 4-seater beach buggy for a half day to roam Akamas nature reserve, really good fun. We did not take part in an accompanied safari as we wanted to explore at our own pace which proved to be wise. Scenery is wonderful, beach buggy was noisy but you definitely don't want to use a hire car to explore as most dirt roads are difficult to navigate and damage is almost unavoidable.
Akamas is unspoilt and hopefully it will stay that way for ever. Alas, a fair amount of rubbish strewn about with plenty of empty plastic bottles in the fields alongside the tracks.

We rented a Suzuki Jimny for our time in Cyprus just for this part! We spent the better part of a day exploring the peninsula - we didn't go any further than Fontana Amorossa, but definitely recommend getting to the Blue Lagoon early before all the big boats do! We left once they'd arrived as it was noisy and really busy - but so beautiful and tranquil beforehand. We really loved Manolis Bay for swimming - it was tricky to get in and out but worth it! Highly recommend bringing water shoes so you can get in and out of the water and on the rocks easily as no really sandy beaches around here.
The road is okay in parts but you definitely need a 4x4 or to hire a quad/take a tour as other parts are very rough/steep etc. Don't even think about taking a normal car, it would wreck it for sure.
We have done plenty of 4x4 in Australia so were fairly confident, but definitely take your time! The views are incredible - this is truly one of the most beautiful places in Cyprus - we liked it so much more than Cape Greco. It is an unspoilt paradise!

We visited the beach just below Viklari restaurant on a hot afternoon. There were only about 6 people on the entire strip of beach.

Only walked in the water as the sea was not super calm. Water was lovely temperature.

We took a picknick basket and sat watching the sea. So beautiful and peaceful end of day.
