Fabulous tour and tasting
Feb. 2020
We had a great time! Traveling up the mountain in the vineyard was great. What a view and so interesting to see the grapes on the vines. Went down to tour the processing and down into the cellar for a tasting. Well worth the price of the tour. The wine was FANTASTIC!

Great views, hospitality and wine
Mar. 2019
We had a private tour- first taken up to an overlook with panoramic views to have lunch accompanied by a great wine of course. Afterward taken on a tour which included watching freshly picked grapes being de-stemmed and crushed. Grand finale was tasting in an atmospheric wine cellar. The wines were excellent.

Over priced but beautiful
Jan. 2019 • Friends
The vineyard & tasting room were both beautiful but unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the value for money of the tour. $65usd for three tastings and a short drive... in Australia the price is about a quarter, double the wine and the wine is just as good.
Our guide was fabulous however.
I wouldn’t recommend this to Australians who know the barossa/mclaren vale/yarra valley regions well... it’s underwhelming.
I think the picnic or bbq may be much better value.

Best wine tour ever!

Amazing service and experience! The Brazilian lady that works there is an amazing person, with a huge knowledge, this fact made all difference during the visit. The experience is limited to few people in a group, which gives you the opportunity of learning more and have a personalized guided tour. Also, the meal offered for a addition price really worth it! Such an amazing view and several tasty wines and cheeses. Talking about the wine, you'll try about 3 different bottles which I may say those were the best wines I have ever tried in my entire life.

Guide Christian loves the vineyard and the wines. We had a wonderful tasting of Calicanto, Memorias and El Principal. What excellent wines!

Exceptional!

The best wine experience I have ever had. Christian, our tour guide took us on a wonderfully personal tour of the vineyard and the winery - sharing knowledge and expertise that was extremely enlightening. The tastings were sublime and we were blown away by the whole experience. Such a great thing to do. Fantastic!

Magnificent winery, personal touch
Aug. 2018 • Family
We spent 2.5 hours touring and tasting with Natalia. First, the winery is beautiful, nestled on the foothills of the Andes. It has only three specialty wines and the entire operation is a by hand labor of love. Natalia was knowledgeable, funny and patient, particularly as we were traveling with an almost 6 year old whose interest in wine is less honed than her interest in Wild Kratts.

The mountain stop is amazing (we did not know enough to book what smelled like an amazing lunch) and is eclipsed only by the amazing cellar tour and cellar tasting. These wines are very special, particularly Memorias, and are difficult to find outside of South America.

Thank you!

Really enjoyed the experience with the guide Alexandra.Interesting and informative tour of the cellar and fermentation facilities, and obviously I very much enjoyed the wine tasting at the end! Beautiful location with wonderful views especially with the soft autumn sun.

Don’t trust the hours in the website, tripadvisor or Google. Wanted to buy in the store but winery closed on Saturday morning.

Amazing Winery outside of Santiago
Mar. 2018
My wife and I have been fortunate to have visited wineries all over the World and in our opinion Vina El Principal was one of the best we have seen. The winery is advertised as a "boutique" winery but it is actually a pretty large operation (if you really want to see a boutique winery, check out Artisana winery outside of Montevideo Uruguay). At El Principal we were able to see the grapes growing on the side of a mountain and watch the harvested fruit being processed. The highlight of the tour was the tasting. All three wines we sampled were outstanding! The 2007 Memorias was particularly good. I would highly recommend a visit to Vina El Principal if you are in Santiago...if you are a wine aficionado it is well worth the time.
