Plenty of parking available along the road opposite the beach or alternatively in the underground car park about 500mtrs further along the road. Local supermarket. Restaurants and bars. beach are

Theres 3 sandy beaches on Madeira, where golden sand as been brought in from Morroco. My wife and I spent the whole day (Thursday) at Calhata beach. Weekends can get very busy on the sandy beach.So go for any other day(s) for space and enjoyment....More

Great and chilly! The hotel nearby is superb! Although it was early May, the sea was calm and inviting. Undoubtedly, the best (and only!) sandy beach on Madeira island.

We swam in the sea. It was chilly but once you're in it's ok. It was actually warmer than the hotel pool
