Cairns Little Theatre produces 5 major live stage productions each year plus numerous minor productions. The Rondo Theatre where performances are held is different to most live theatres, it is 'theatre in the round' where the stage is surrounded by the audience. I went here recently to see Wife After Death and found it a very entertaining play.
The audience seating was set to 3 sides of the stage of which I found very good.
Not a huge theatre either..just right.
They drinks were very cheaply priced too.
Fab night out and lovely little theatre :)

I’ve seen a couple of plays at the Rondo and have always come away with a good experience. The quality of the shows is impressive for a local community theatre where the performers and crew are volunteers. The front of house staff are always friendly and chatty and there is a distinct community feel (one of the ladies serving at the bar I recognised from playing Nurse Ratched in a previous production). The theatre itself is excellent with a 3/4 in the round configuration. You can buy tickets online or at the door (at the door is cheaper as there is no booking fee but you risk the show having sold out). Shows are varied from full length drama and comedies to one act plays and pantomime.

comfy seats good viewing from anywhere small enough to fill part of the play interval well organized where you can prey pay and order drinks prior to going into the theater therefor giving you quality time at intrtval

Six great actors stage an hilarious farce as one of the guys loses the plot while trying to stay engaged to 3 different air hostesses who all end up on his doorstep at the same time.

Recently saw the production of "Don't Dress for Dinner" - brilliant comedy performed and directed. I love going to the Rondo. We in Cairns are so fortunate to have such a dedicated group of artisans in Cairns. Somehow I don't think "amateur" should apply to this group - they are very professional.

So glad to revisit this great little theatre. Upgraded over the years by the dedicated and very welcoming team this theatre "in the round" is a terrific asset and the current show "Don't Dress for Dinner" was brilliantly done. Loved it.

I've seen & thoroughly enjoyed many a play staged by the Cairns Little Theatre at the Rondo Theatre for the past 20+ years & am SO looking forward to seeing their Pantomime production of "Cinderella" next week. The theatre's "Thrust/In the Round’ space makes for a more personal, up-close experience for the audience of each production, whilst the CLT members weave their magic with great acting, brilliant directing & amazing lighting, sound & costumes. Wonderful evening out in Cairns.

the majority of the plays performed are comedy but also some drama. Have been going to this theatre for 15+ years and have always enjoyed the flair and professionalism portrayed. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys live theatre. The calibre is incredible for a local company.

I've seen several plays produced by this amateur theatre company - they've all been great! The variety of ways they use the space (Round & Thrust) is amazing!

Rondo theatre is the place to go and enjoy a night out with friends and families to watch live plays. I have been there many times and always been great. Brilliant production crew brings Brilliant shows for audience.
